Taking
Cialis
Cialis is a medication that was developed as a treatment for men with erection
difficulties. It was developed by Lilly ICOS and is a prescription medicine
that should only be taken when a man wishes to have sex. Because of its
unique properties Cialis can be taken as long as 12 hours before sexual
intercourse is contemplated. Cialis can remain ‘active’ in the
blood stream for up to 36 hours after taking the tablet. Calais will not
‘cause’ a man to have an erection, it is still necessary for
stimulation to take place. This can be visual or can be physical, but either
way it is required for Cialis to work. The medication is intended for men
only and is not suitable for women.
The degree of a man’s erectile dysfunction will determine to some
extent the Cialis dose size. It is generally accepted that the initial dose
of Cialis should be 10mg taken at least one hour before anticipated sexual
activity but can be up to 12 hours before. A higher dose of 20mg can be
prescribed for men whose response to the 10mg dose is inadequate. Should
a man be on medicines, or have a medical condition that may decrease the
body’s ability to metabolise Cialis, a dose of 5mg is recommended.
Cialis should be taken as a single dose as above. It can be taken with or
with out meals. The dose should not be repeated within 24hours. Cialis can
be taken with moderate amounts of alcohol not to the point of intoxication.
Cialis may be taken up to once a day and because stimulation is required
for Cialis to work, you respond to your partner when the moment is right.
As you can see Cialis can work with food and alcoholic drink, fatty foods
should however be avoided as these can slow down the rate of absorption.
Patient experience collected by UKMedix shows that Cialis works better if
alcohol and fatty foods are avoided.
If you find that the recommended dose of 10mg of Cialis does not work properly
for you first time, try again with this dose, if not successful increase
to a higher one.
