I had to hide him from my mother because my family insist that i have a boyfriend from same religion of Hindi....my boyfriend is christian but so what he lovees me and i love him am upset that we can not be togethers. i felt like soi upset that this is like a big secret. i am 19 and am not too sure if i could trell my family the secret but i dont like to lie though : has otehr people had this propblem with religion and family issues>?> DaveChung 03-15-2006 @ 10:42 PM                           reply Member Joined: Mar 2006 Hiya, Yes, I have a two friend who are now married and have just had thier first child. He's from Scandenavian and she's British born Hindu. They both had a really hard time. Both parents didn't want them to marry. Of course today the families are very close. You know there's so much similarity between Christian and Hindu, especially if you compare Christ and Krishna. If your partner will respect Hindu traditions and care for you fully then be strong. You know your own situation of course. But let me assure you that in Britain today you relationship would be respected and admired, don't forget that. If he loves you as he says my advice would be that he asks to speak with your father. So he can respectfully explain his feelings for you and reasure you family. Again, you will know if this is reasonable, if it might work or might cause more issue. But don't be afraid to do it. Loving each other is nothing shamefull.
