hey y'all i have been taking propecia for nearly a year now and have been reading that for best results, you should take one pill a day of propecia for 12 months.

i have definitely noticed a big difference in hair growth but was wondering how long you should the medication for? some say they have been on the meds for 5 years - anyone in this forum taken propecia for that long? any thoughts welcome. peace. out.

hi liam_g. you are most likely to see results from taking propecia between 6 and 12 months. after 12 months, if absolutley nothing has happened then the pills are not working for you and you will need to look at other medication.

If propecia is working relly well for you aftr a year then keep going with it, i am not sure when you stop taking the medication - when you are happy with the thickness and regrowth??

hey Liam,

I have been taking Propecia for a long time now and have been and still am happy with the results. I decided to continue to take propecia as i didn't want to worry about my hair thinning again.  I think i will keep taking them and seek advice from the doc on here when I think i have had enough.

Hope this helps.

Joey

Liam,

I have been taking Propecia for only a few months.  I am happy with thew results.  I think I will plan to take propecia for a few years as I am only 25 and think if I stop after a year, I may go bald before my 30s so that is why I am planning on the continuation of my treatment.

Thanks for input all. Good idea to keep taking the meds and then when I feel like I dont need them I will consult my doctor. Dont want to come off them too early and loose all the good results!

Hey Liam,

Just an update...I am ALREADY seeing results not even 2 months into my Prop course! I do not think that it is Psychological but i really feel that my hair is not falling out so much and I even reel fluff at the sides!

Ok so I am not 100% sure if its the Propecia but i am sure that it can't be anything else..!!
