the other day I heard someone talking about someone who used to take Viagra but had to stop because it gave him bipolar disorder… pardon my ignorance but I’m not too familiar with bipolar disorders and its origins, so I didn’t really know if they were talking BS or if it was true.
I take Viagra and I really would like to know if this is a secondary effect.  Thanks

But I think people who suffer from bi polar disorder - which i believe is a
newish term for manic depression/massive mood swings - are told to
take viagra if they suffer from ED? I'd be surprised if they were
prescribing Viagra if its believed to bring on depression.

But no - I've not heard of it as a secondary effect.
Cheers

Pod17 is totally right. There is someone who knows someone who knows somebody! I know someone who suffers from bipolar depression and he takes Viagra.  I’m sure he is monitored by his doctors.
You don’t have anything to worry about. People always like to talk bs…

It's important with any drug you take to just monitor how you feel. It may
well be that your friend was a special case. But Viagra is such a successful
brand, I don't think its could sustain its popularity if it was strongly linked
to depression.
But try it, bear it in mind, and see how you go - that's my advice.
