Are you a young man in your 20s, 30s or 40s suffering from E.D (erectile dysfunction)? It's a condition that affects one in 10 men over the age of 40 and is often perceived as an 'old man's disease.' So it can come as a nasty shock when younger men, for example, diabetics in their 30s, develop symptoms.
It can result in loss of confidence, depression and relationship break- down. But many men refuse to go to their GP or discuss it with their partners, causing a lot of distress. Instead, they often fall victim to hoax and even dangerous drugs (eg. fake Viagra bought over the Internet).
I am a Television Development Producer, developing documentary ideas. At present, I'm working on programme that will make E.D. the subject of a social action campaign.
It's a sensitive subject, but I'm looking for a young man who has the condition (however slight) who would be prepared to participate in this important documentary. It requires someone with confidence and character to be the protagonist in the film – immersing himself in a personal journey to find a cure. That might include trying out different products (all safe/medically verified) and assessing their success, visiting medical professionals, observing other men undergoing treatment/operations and talking frankly to other men with the condition. It's likely that this person's partner (if he is in a relationship) would also have to be involved in some capacity (eg attending sexual therapy classes together). So it would certainly take guts, but I'm convinced that there will be someone with the courage to present these issues.
With thanks,
L. Coulter Network Development Producer
