Hi I have been perscribed Reductil through my Doctor. Here are my starting statistics: Shortness: 152cm Heaviness 73kg BMI of 32 - Obese Clothes size: 14 on top, 12 on bottom I started on the 10mg of Reducting on 25th May, noticed my appetite reduced pretty much straight away, and I was satisfied on less and didnt touch chocolate for a while - which to me is unbelievable. Then things started to go back to the way I was before I started taking them. Craving rubbish food, wanting to snack, but still I was eating less at any given time. Had my checks with the Doctor after 3 weeks and requested that I go on the 15mg (finished the 10mg packet first)..... I haven't noticed ANY difference. Been on the 15mg for 8 days now. I have noticed that when I am hungry there is no gradual build up, I just suddenly feel starving!! I am wanting to snack, crave fast-food and chocolate, but still the same in that dont eat much before I am full. Stats for today: Shortness: 152cm Heaviness 69kg (4kg reduction since start) BMI of 29.9 - Overweight Clothes size: 12 on top, 12/10 on bottom Duration: Just short of 5 weeks The only side-effect that I get is having a dry mouth (especially when I am talking too much). Is this right, should I be seeing and feeling something slightly more drastic? Is it just that I am not going to see anything amazing and should consider taking something else? I know that I need to up my excercise as it is currently zero due to some personal issues at home, and I know that I need to eat healthier but I just dont have the will power! I have just had my contraceptive pill implant removed and I am hoping that may make a difference but the woman that removed it said it had no impact on your weight - but I am not sure that I agree! So basically, is this all what it is meant to be? Or should it be better? 8lbs (4kg) in 6 weeks doesnt seem that much?! Any feedback would be great!

I think that you were possibly expecting that miracle to happen - and it didn't... don't give up just yet though! "should I be seeing and feeling something slightly more drastic" Like what? Realistically, you don't have that much to lose (in comparison to some others on here) so you shouldn't expect to lose as quickly as those people. In order to maintain a loss you need to lose it steadily - 1-2lbs per week. "I know that I need to up my excercise as it is currently zero due to some personal issues at home, and I know that I need to eat healthier but I just dont have the will power!" There's the problem - you have no motivation / will power so it's almost as if you are setting yourself up to fail from the start. We all crave junk food, the secret is moderation. Have a Macdonalds - but make it a Happy Meal - and see it as a treat for doing well. Exercise is so important (I was told this last year and didn't listen) so even going up and down stairs more than you need to is better than nothing. There are other weightloss aids out there, but without some degree of will power they will not work - sadly the "make me thin" drug is not yet out there (I have my name down for it when it does get released) Stick with it, increase your exercise even a bit and try not to give into the junk food cravings too often ;)

I definitely do have the will power but just at the minute I have had so much going on that it just hasn't been a priority and I have been comfort eating, which I know is ridiculous!! The whole BMI statistics makes me laugh! About 5 years ago, I was a size 8 and weighed just under 9.5 stone. I looked good, was fit as I had a horse, but my BMI said that I was Overweight but I couldn't have got any thinner even if I wanted to! After having a baby I am now a size 12 (which like you said most people on here would dream to be that size) and my BMI says that I am obese - so if I followed the BMI and was so unhappy with the way I was, and I didnt have a good relationship with food, by now I would have one serious eating disorder and would look hidieously thin! You can't win with the medical professionals! When I said should more drastic things be happening I wasn't necessarily talking about weight-loss, but a lot of information that I have read shows people having quite strong side-effects which I just do not have. The whole reason me and my doctor agreed for me to go on these tablets is that it would help me change my habits and the way I use food for curbing bordem! Thanks for the advice though, it is much appreciated. It is a real inspiration to see someone who has had such a drastic weightloss, I know that I shouldnt really be complaining when my ideal weightloss is just 2 stone!

i don't think it's bad that you "only" have 2 stone to lose, that is still a hard job for anyone to lose. the only thing you can do is work at it and see if the reds do help you change your habits, that is the thing they work best at. good luck x
