Hi all, i'm new to all this and hope you can guide me. I have just started to take reductil and now on my 4th day. How long does it take for it to do it's job. Rachel

Welcome along Rachel Have a read around and you will see lots of different approaches and lots of different peoples ideas on how to do it, Stick with it is the key, some days you will feel hungry some days you wont, i have been on them for 2 months and lost 9lb (over half a stone) if your hungry drink plenty of water to trick the mind into thinking your full up. try and do some exercise even if its a few times up and down the stairs or a swim once a week. dont wait for your appetite to be naturally suppressed and do make sure you eat 3 small healthy meals a day, Not eating "will not" help it work better or faster. dont ban yourself from all the nice things in life as it makes it more painful than it needs to be. i still eat nice things but i dont eat as much of them as i used to.. Now you are here you are duty bound to come and give us a monthly update when you have had a weigh in. good luck and happy reading

Thank you for your reply. I was worried cause i've become more obsessed about food since starting them with the fear of eating too much. I am currently a weight watchers member and worried I might be eating too much due to the amount of points i have to eat daily. Rachel

a ww diet will only help as long as you use that as a guideline for your diet you will be good to go. if you are naughty who cares just get back on the wagon and move on.. i just had a baked spud and chicken and coleslaw topping and im full up and prolly wont eat again tonight where as i used to be in the crisps by 8 oc :) golden wonder and walkers have reported a mass drop in revenue since i started the reds!!

lol, they lost a lot of revenue when i stopped eating them 12 mths ago and i'm surprised the makers of diet pepsi have'nt gone into liquidation since i stopped drinking that. I have had to fight tooth and nail to be put onto reds, i was given orlistat which was awful. I have come to the point of tearing my hair out over my weight, my doctor has not been very helpful and just kept dismissing it, because i have an under active thyroid that was his answer and told me to accept it, I really want to lose 3 stone because of all the health probs i have and need all the support i can get. My husband who does'nt have a weight issue typically keeps telling me he loves me as i am but i'm sure it's cause he does'nt want me to look like i did when we met 5 yrs ago, which is not helping me at all. Sorry to rant on but it's good to get it off my chest

hehe its all good, i like these reds and especially the attitude of the forum members. I have learnt a lot from the (i say this very carefully) "older" members that say if your bad no one cares and all you do is get back on the slippery slope. ive been where you are as all i got from my son was your not fat dad whats the problem, Which although quite endearing it doesnt help me with losing the weight i dont want anyway its a forum, you can rant as much as you like some will find it funny some wont and most will have forgotten by tommorow Nick

Thanks Nick, I've just had my sixth day on reds and other than sleepness nights have'nt been bothered by other side effects. I'm still a little unsure whether they have started to have an effect on my brain but i do know that i have put more effort into my diet this week and was weighed at ww tonight and have lost 4.5llbs so really pleased, this loss has been a long time coming for me, i have never lost this much weight in one week before, i have spent the last 18mths around the same weight so fingers crossed it will keep going. Hi Rachel, Welcome to the nuthouse - only kidding! I haven't had a chance to welcome you before now. Oh we are a friendly ( daft at times! ) bunch on here, and you can rant and moan about weight as much as you like! ( the rest of us do! ) Cor, I was given them Orlistat a couple of years ago! Thing is, I already have a bowel illness, so you can imagine the effect it had on me!!! NOT NICE! I know exactly how you feel, I too have Hypothyroidism, which is a damn nightmare when your trying to lose weight isn't it? I also have other health problems and I'm on steriods and other medications that make you put weight ON! If you read my threads you'll get the idea. I'm sure you'll do well on the reds Rachel. Take your time, and dont panic if you suddenly need to visit the loo abit more often than before. On reds you have to drink tons of water a day, it's important. So needless to say we all have to trot off more to the loo these days! but it's nothing to worry about. Good luck on your journey, and join in with the chats, we like a good gossip I say Nick........who's the older members then??????? And what do you class as old? ( I'd think very carefully here if I were you! ) Debs xx
