We are getting rather mixed messages regarding the withdrawal of reductil by European Drug Regulators. UK medix - your news item would lead us to believe it is business as usual. Please clarify. The clinical studies showing increased risk of cardiovascular events would have taken into account the decreased risk from the reductil- induced weight loss. The overall assessment was very concerning. I feel especially concerned for those receiving the drug that only self report their BP. It is a great responsibility for an internet-based company such as ukmedix that continues to prescribe therefore. I would guess that there are people receiving this drug from internet sources because their GPs have refused on medical grounds. Yes, it is the responsibility of the patient to give their correct medical history but weight loss is a desparate business and patients may be economical with the truth. I would like to hear more from UKmedix regarding these concerns. Skinny Cheers Skinny [url=http://www.tickerfactory.com/weight-loss/wpAqVJL]My Weight Chart:

Hi Libbyling, doing fine thank and hope you are too. I have not been on the sight for a while. My weight is up and down but the exercise helps a lot! I am guessing the UKmedix cannot answer my question because they are in a process of resolving it. UKmedix is a business and we/you are the customers. If they may continue selling it, it will be good news for them as many more people will want to buy it online. If not, I guess, it is very bad news as this drug is probably one of their blockbusters. I remain concerned that it had been withdrawn for medically sound reasons. There could be some "clause" that allows the drug to be prescribed to non-risk groups. However, patient self-reporting their BP etc is risky for the patient. As I said before, people are desperate to lose weight and may be economical with the truth regarding being in a risk group. Great to have clarification for everyone using the drug. Cheers Skinny

Coaster, Reductil did help me but I wouldn't take it now it's been banned, and i'm not alone. None of us are doctors so cannot say for sure if it's safe and it wouldn't be banned across Europe, the US and the UK for nothing. I realise you must be desperate and we've all been there but I don't think it's okay for someone on here to sell it to you in the circumstances, plus this is not mean't to be a place to buy and sell, obviously they're not willing to take the chance themselves !! I am NOT preaching !! just speaking my mind so sorry if you're not happy with what I've said but this a forum and therefore a platform to share thoughts and experiences as well as finding advice and help. Not a problem at all, each to their own. I did buy from a girl on here last week. Yes, I know some people will frown but I actually met her and she told me why she was selling them. I have to say I was really happy with my purchase and would do it again. This said, I would not have purchased had I not had the opportunity of meeting her.

Coaster, I'm glad you did it like that and hope you'll be ok. If you've never used them before you may not be aware that checking your blood pressure is vital, this was the basis, plus BMI, on which a GP considered whether someone was a suitable candidate for Reductil. Is it possible you could get your BP checked without mentioning the Reductil ? I like many others was gutted when the ban happened and it has been a bit of a struggle since 23rd Jan but I'm adjusting to not having that suppressant to help me, it did help me to lose 2 and 1/2 stone in about 20 weeks so I missed it a little to start. However I have continued to lose slowly but surely. It was an excellent kick start, still got 1 and 1/2 to go. Hope you see my point as a concerned member of the forum. So take care and maybe your doctor friend could check you out. Jay

Quite right, also Lloyds chemist do a range of services, diabetes check for instance. I have to say we bought a BP monitor from Lloyds for home use as my other half has to get checked every 6 months and it's a bit erratic with sometimes vastly different readings within a couple of minutes of each other. So we just use it as a guide, nothing beats the real thing. Take care Jay
