I've just started taking xenical - I prefer Reductil, but I am still losing weight. My goodness, I'm being careful though. I'm constantly planning what low fat meals I can eat! I've bought millions of low fat cookbooks for inspiration!

I am trying Hoodia at the moment, only a couple of days so far so will let you know. I looked carefully for the ones which seemed to be the most genuine if you know what I mean, and got them from Holland and Barrett. Didn't they work for you MCW9 ? did they make no difference at all ? I do so need to suppress my appetite !!!!!!!!!! Jay

Thanks for that Froggy, will keep you informed. The claim is Hoodia suppresses your appetite and could possibly effect liver function in people with liver problems, and people who are very overweight are apparently most likely to have liver trouble. As I have less than two stone to lose they say I'm not at risk. The other side effect can be an upset tummy but that's unlikely too. So I'll try them out, they were quite dear because they are pure hoodia gordonii, nearly £40 for six weeks supply, but I don't drink or smoke so what the heck, some people have paid far more for Reds online. I'm taking xenical now, would hoodia be less effective? I'd prefer to have something that suppresses my appetite like reductil did.. WA

Hi WA, been taking Hoodia since last wednesday and to be honest haven't noticed any difference in appetite yet but I think the reds took awhile if I remember rightly. I promise I'll let you know how I'm doing on them. Dieting would be sooooooooo easy if we weren't hungry !! (real or imagined) ha ha. Keep going, Jay

hey peeps have just been reading through this forum and really interested by the different things people are taking for suppress the appetite. I read somewhere - and please dont take my word for it, that Chromium supplements are said to control cravings for sugary foods, I have no idea if it works but thought you might like to research and see. yes, it took me a while with reds too. I've just looked up hoodia gordonii plus. Is that what you're taking? I'm wondering whether to continue with the xenical - I'm driving myself crazy with cravings now. I've been so good out of pure terror, but I don't think I can keep this up for much longer. I think I may need to try something else. I'll have a look at chromium, thanks Fi - WA
