Lil, I'm determined to do it this time.  It doesn't hurt thta hubby promised me new clothes when I need them (shopping!)  I've realised that I've spent a lot of years not being able to run around and now that I can, I like it and I want to keep it that way.  Mainly though, it's the shopping

Tammygirl, Ask the pharmacist to show you the box before you get them - if they are the same as last month then ask for different ones.  To be honest though, I think it was more psychological for me - last month I convinced myself that the reds didn't work and blamed the fact that they were not the usual German / English ones.  I did lose last month, but not as much as previous months (but then again I had a great month so maybe it was me and not the pills?)

Claire, you've been gone so long, how you doing girl? Interview went great and I start at the end of March

Had a bit of a bad weekend at mum's - drinking Baileys & Jamesons - too easy and the aftermath of a good night was eating junk food all day (quiche and sausage rolls) - back on track today, until I came home craving a bloody sausage roll... the sooner they are eaten the better!

Thursday 13th March

Well, I've put on 3/4lb this week so I'm back above my 3 stone target?!  Can't complain though, cos I drank too much on Saturday and ate far too much on Sunday so it's my own fault really!

There are some posts on here about people noticing the weight loss and people around them commenting on it.  My OH knew all about the reds but told me he couldn't see the difference in me for ages.  Now he can, and not just because I wear smaller clothes, but because he says my face is not as fat, and he can tell when I'm naked!  The people who I thought would notice more are those I don't see so often, but it's not really happened that way, until yesterday.  I met up briefly with Lisa (who gave my name for the new job) and the first words out of her mouth were "hey you skinny girl" It was pretty bloody great, because the last time I saw her I weighed about a stone more than I do now (but I was larger - if you know what I mean), so it meant a lot to me.

This week I'm going to make more of an effort to stop myself nibbling, and I'm back off the booze because I reckon that's what's doing it - a good night drinking followed by a bad day eating; and I've not done a workout for a few days so that's not helping either.

Excuses Excuses Excuses... I'm only kidding myself but I can't afford another gain next week (nurse weigh in) so it's nose to the window instead of head in the fridge!

Rachel x

Hi Rachel

Men are soooo romantic aren't they? Thank goodness for female friends.

It's a great thing that this is not a race, we are allowed to have our ups and downs. Over the long term we are heading in the right direction. Life would be really boring if we were perfect.

Well here's to a great week, you have proven you can do it!

Take care
Sue

Wednesday 19th March

A strange week but I wanted to share it so far!  We spent Saturday at mom's - Stopping in is the new going out!

As you know, I'm leaving my current job in a couple of weeks, and I've been asked to show another lady at work exactly what I do.  Now, I'm not a trainer - I just can't do it... I couldn't even teach my kids to read because I have no patience. Fortunately, my kids turned out to be really clever - despite me, not because of me!

Well, Monday I had to explain everything really slowly so she could write things down and by Tuesday my patience had left the building, only to be replaced by the biggest StressBall ever.
I decided that I needed to leave earlier than next Friday because I can't start my new job this way - stresshead is not in the job description.
I approached my manager and explained that i planned to leave Wednesday instead of Friday (now I only have to work 2 weeks under my contract, which I've done, so working 4 was doing them a favour) but he was a bit shirty about it.  He said "I'm asking you politely to stay until Friday" - my response was that I was struggling to train and unwilling to burn myself out.  He asked me to sleep on it (always sleep on it!)
I got home last night and nearly lost it with Krynn over something really minor - and at that point I knew I couldn't go on.

Anyway, this was the back story to today's nurse visit.
She asked how I was, so I told her that I was a bundle of stress.  I also mentioned that I wasn't losing properly but would it be possible to move to the 15's even if only for a month or two.  She took my BP which was so high that not only would she not prescribe the 15's, she told me that it was probably too high for the 10's!
Fortunately for me, she understood that it was the work stress that was causing the rise in BP and so I've got another month.
She did say that I need to chill out and if work is getting me this bad I should look at taking more time for me - so i did - I took the day off and my BP dropped!

So, I've got another month of reds and I really have to kickstart myself (by her scales I've only lost 1kg this past month).

I do wonder if the two are linked - work is pretty dire and the diet has gone belly up.  Maybe having this weekend off, and finishing mid week next week will give me the time to relax before my new job - and the kick up the arse I need to get back on track?!

Here's another kick up the arse to get you back on track!

Anyway on a more serious note, I'm sure that there is a link between your job and your diet......we all know stress makes us overindulge in the "sometimes foods", with me its chocolate bavarian cheesecakes.

Anyway I'm sure once you get the stress out of the way you'll get back on track with your eating.

UP with the new job, OUT with the old one.

Rachel - here is another toe up the bum!!!    Have been in similar position as yourself with jobs.  DONT GO BACK.  To hell with them.  Just ring and tell them your doctor has said you must rest due to raised BP and say you will give them DOcs name and number if you want to confirm this.  YOU ARE NOT LYING!!!!!!! We all make this big loyalty mistake with employees when at the end of the day they dont give a sh!t!!!  They are using you to train madam who will probably never be as good as you anyway.  ALso she will blame everything she does wrong on the way she was trained BY YOU!!!  Get out now and leave them to it!!! PLEASE!!    Look after number one for a change!!

Thanks for the kind words and the big boots gang

Well, I went back to work today (bp still high, but decided that I need to show them that I can still be professional).  My position remains the same that I'm struggling to train, and that I want to finish Wednesday evening - and that's OK!

Anyway, after having a much better day at work, we've finally employed someone - he starts Tuesday.  I've agreed that I'll stay during the week to hand over as possible.  I'm still worried about training but hopefully, if he's any good, he'll see what I do and understand it (stock control is number crunching so he just needs to be get as excited about numbers as I do and he'll be fine).

I'm off out tonight to see a gig (driving) and off to mom's tomorrow for Good Friday so I'm going to be good (stuffing bread roll in mouth)!

I've put on 1lb this week; so that, along with the high bp has really spurred me on to greater things (second bread roll).  I'm going to try the exercise thing again next week, cos that's fallen by the wayside too, so hopefully things next week will be BETTER.

Also, I'm a bit worried in case choc fish puts on bigger boots next week and kicks me into next month - have you seen that Kiwi Rugby Team kick?

Rachel x
