Thursday 31st July

Right, I'm back off my jols and I've managed to put on 1/4lb this week.  I don't know if it was the beer, the fish n chips or the fact that I only had 1 meal in 5 days that wasn't "take away"

Anyway, the weekend was fab - got burnt (not so good) and wore size 18 skinny jeans

Although we're back, I'm still on holiday so I'm not worrying about what I eat until Monday.  I know that might sound a bit irresponsible, but you know what?  It's my holiday and the only reason we're back is so that I can sort out passports (so in my head I'm still on a bank fishing)  Also, you know the old saying "All work and no play" well its REALLY TRUE!

Going to see the nurse for my weigh in tomorrow (one week early, but as I'm not in work!) and I'm confident that I've lost almost half a stone in the past month.  I'll let you know how I get on

I've not been around much lately - still on the reds, but other things seem to get in the way of me and the computer (talking about my kids!)

This week I've put on 3/4lb, which isn't so bad as long as it's not the start of a trend.  I'm still the right side of 3 and 1/2 stone off so no panic yet.

On Wednesday I got some tickets to go the cinema and see the new Mummy film (it was a bit pants), but that's not why I'm telling you... the seats were so comfy and HUGE!  Now, maybe they are oversized seats?  I like to think that my bum is shrunk though, and that's why there was enough room for me and my giant popcorn, nachos and bucket of coke!
Only kidding, I took my own Ribena light, but did eat Minstrels all the way through (perhaps this could have contributed to the 3/4lb gain?)

Tonight I'm off to Stockport to see the band with Krynn and a couple of other teenagers - I'm driving so it'll be gallons of soda water and a mad dance - that 3/4lb doesn't stand a chance

remind me to tell you about the "guess your age man" next time I'm on... you will die laughing!

Saturday 9th August

Last night was a bit odd!  The band were good, but the barmaid was a bit, no a lot, strange.  One of the band had been drinking a can of pop on the way to the pub, and had left the empty can on the table when they went on stage (OK, it should have been thrown in the bin, but we were sat there so it's not the end of the world).  The barmaid cleared the tables and stopped the gig partway through to demand the name of the person drinking their own drinks in a pub.  She told the lead guitarist that it had to be one of his lot cos her regulars wouldn't do that and that he had to "sort it out!"
It went down really well, and put the singer couldn't sing the next song after being publicly dressed down in the middle of a set by bar staff.

Now, I agree, that you don't go to a pub and drink your own drinks, but that's not what happened.  It had been drunk on the way to the pub and happened to be empty when they got there.

So anyway, apart from an overzealous jobsworth it wa a good night!

OK, so it's nothing to do with weight loss but I thought I'd share with you.

Now, the guess your age man....
In Ingoldmells market there is an old chap who "guesses your age" at the cost of £1.00 (which is donated to a local children's charity).  If he doesn't guess to within 1 year either way you win a prize.
For a laugh, I had a go - not that I'm vain, but it was a nice day and me and Phil had been having a wander wound the market and a bit of a laugh on our hols.
He guessed, I won a prize - not 1 year out....  11 years out! (in the right direction)
He put me at 29 :D
No, he didn't have a guide dog, no he didn't appear to have been drinking and YES it cheered me up no end.

Maybe it's a ploy to give people a boost by guessing completely wrongly - but whatever it was it worked - I was buzzing for the rest of the day!

My prize?  a biro (to write postcards and tell everyone about the guess your age man)

That is such an ego boost. I would pay him again and again, just so I could have the pleasure of hearing it!

Just shows how you are only as old as you feel. He was wrong you know, you are actually somewhere in your teens really.

Monday 11th August

I don't often post mid week, but I have to tell you about Sunday afternoon.

Every few weeks we get invited out with the lads (I'm the only wife that goes for some reason) but we haven't been out for a few months.  We turned up yesterday afternoon and I was wearing my skinny jeans and long top with heels; actually the jeans and top were both Krynn's but they are too big for her now.  Shoes are mine and as I was driving I didn't have to worry about walking too far in ridiculous shoes.  Not that the clothes have anything to do with it... I'm just buzzin cos I was wearing size 18 jeans

We say our hellos and sit down - the first thing that one of the guys said to me?
"I'm not being cheeky, but have you lost weight?"

A man, who is not my husband, and is not related to me asked if I had lost weight... A bit later I was asked again by another bloke - cos my face looks thinner

So, even though I've not really lost much since the last time I saw the lads - and I was seeing them regularly at the start of the reds, this was the first time they'd noticed... 10 months after starting

The reason for this post?  Sometimes it takes a while for people to notice that you've lost weight but when you get comments out of the blue like that they really make your day!

Oh and Sue you're probably right, I think I am a 40 year old teenager

Hi Jelly (happy birthday for tomorrow)

Nah, still no closer - now that you're back I'll have to get my ass in gear and look at how to go about publishing it.

Good to have you back girl...

I've lost 1/4lb this week - I'm pleased with it (honestly didn't expect much this week).  Have to admit though, I've had 2 biscuits today that have made me feel extremely sickly (well that and the 2 rolls with seafood filling).

I'm off out tomorrow night (again!!) and although I'm not driving I don't plan to drink much... oh those famous last words lol

It's only 6 weeks to the wedding so I really must step it up a notch if I'm going to get in and out of the aircraft seat without the aid of a shoe horn

"will the fat woman on the left please move to the middle of the plane... we've been going round in circles for half an hour and would like to take off now"
Oh the shame of it lol lol lol lol

plan for the week - try a bit more exercise and a lot less cake
