Thursday 21st August

I've lost 1 and 1/4lb this week - which takes me back to the weight I was before I put on 1 and 1/4lb!

I'm now 5lb away from 4 stone - and 5 weeks away from Italy so it's 1lb a week from now on (or at least I hope so).

I've invented a new sport this week... WUNKING!
It's a bit of Walking, followed by some rUNning, then finished off with more walKING.
So far I've been out wunking twice this week - only 8/10 of a mile but it is down hill then back up the hill (hence the walking at the end).
It takes me about 15 minutes from door to door and I've enjoyed myself.  I'm going to try this 3 times a week - no point setting myself targets of 7 times, cos it just aint gonna happen!

This weekend is my mom's 60th birthday and we are all going out - yes, we are going out as a family to a pub for food!
Those of you who know me, will understand that it's something of an achievement for my mom to be going out to the pub.

On Sunday I'm at a Christening so although I plan to be good all weekend, you can see where there is temptation in my path

Right, I'm gonna be strong and focus on these 5lbs that I want to shift

Anyone for a wunk?

Rachel x

Thursday 4th September

I have no idea where I've been for the past two weeks, or what I've been doing that would stop me from being here so you'll have to forgive me if I'm not up to date with the latest goings on in Redsland

Oh, I remember now (coming through the fog) - it was mom's 60th birthday, then the Christening, then my friends's 40th... Oh the fog is clearing and it's all coming back to me now!

Mom had a great day - we got her bit tipsy... well no actually she sat drinking Baileys from the bottle while opening her presents so she got herself tipsy.  It was worth it just to see the old mom back for a short while.  Not that she was ever a drinker, but my mother laughing is not a sight we've seen much of for the past few months.

We didn't actually make the christening, but the after party was a riot and didn't end until after 1am!  I didn't have a massive hangover, but I KNEW I'd been drinking lol

40th birthday party was good, it was fancy dress and I went as Pamela Anderson in Barb Wire (any excuse to wear my corset!)
Had a wardrobe disaster at home when my corset snapped.  Krynn suggested Baywatch Pamela (in her red swimsuit... I was tempted!) but found another strapless top to wear instead.
We had a great time and Sunday (to finish off her birthday weekend) we did teatime karaoke in the local - which was pretty good.

I'm officially off the booze for 3 weeks until I go to Italy as the past two weekends have resulted in my weight up and down, but ultimately staying the same (not bad I suppose, but not good either).

I've got a pedometer - but I've found that for it to work I have to either waddle like a duck, or mince like Marilyn Monroe.  For the first 3 days (until I discovered waddling/mincing) it registered under 100 steps all day, which would suggest that I've mastered levitation?!

Right, I'm off for lunch in the kitchen... 20 steps and tonight I may get my ass on the stepper for a while (unless it's dry and then it's out for a walk!)

I'll post some party pics later for you to have a good laugh at (laughing burns up calories so I hope you'll thank me when you've lost all this weight!)

I don't know about blondes having more fun?

I definitely had fun, but I think it's because nobody recognised me!

I suggest that everyone should invest in a wig - wear it in an everyday situation and see how many people think you are somebody else

You're right about the boobs Shaz - they're the only thing that haven't shrunk this year.  I'm having to hire two midgets to walk in front of me holding them up and generally supporting me from falling face down every time I move lol

Thursday 11th September

No loss, no gain - no wonder!

Friday I had an all-nighter watching tv with the kids, and Saturday I had another all-nighter drinking and messing around on the web with my mate... yes I've turned into a teenager!

I've been using the pedometer, and sometimes it's working and sometimes it's not - don't know why I'm bothering with it to be honest, cos it's not registering a true reading.  I may invest in a new one on pay day.

So, my clothes are loose, my jeans are size 18, I'm moving so much better than ever i have done before and I'm rapidly becoming settled at my new weight.

Not sure if this is a good or bad thing - only time will tell really.

Monday 15th September

You will not believe what I did yesterday - go on, have a guess...

If you guessed "threw myself through a 10foot tube filled with foam" then you'd be right!

I took part in an "It's A Knockout" contest to raise money for a local hospice.  I got a phone call Saturday night, someone had dropped out at the last minute and would I be interested in taking part?  So off I went (in my falling down combats and vest) and had a fantastic time climbing over inflatables, clambering under cargo nets and generally acting silly for 3 hours.

Our team didn't win - actually we didn't do too bad considering 3 last minute substitutions (me, my mate Di and Krynn), and we just seemed to laugh all day.

At the end of it we all walked home - wet, muddy and still laughing - then went to the pub.  So yesterday I walked to the rugby club, took part in a "sporting event" and walked home again.

At no time was I out of breath, or too tired to stand up; my legs didn't hurt from being stood up for 4 hours, and today although I'm sore, I can still move.

I couldn't have done all that 12 months ago (and I doubt that I would have been asked to take part)

So you see, as I'm getting near the end of my year on the Reds I can see just what a difference there has been to my life... I'VE GOT ONE!

As for next year, we're gonna do it all over again

Hi Rachel!!
Wow sounds like a fab weekend!!! This is the first time I've been on in ages!!! Apart from you and Skinny didn't recognize any other names!
I'm still plodding away on the reds... slow and steady..
I am feeling so upbeat and positive about myself at the moment!!! My hubby said last night ohh I haven't 'had' a   women so slim in years!! Not sure if that was a compliment or an insult really... the truth i suppose..
so pleased you are still plodding away as well..
I think when we all start the Reds we expect an over night change, I think even the doc's expect big results quickly.. but the reality is it is a slow steady loss and change of life....
keep up the great work.. you are a star..
love Lil x
