Friday 12th June

I've hit my first half stone (according to the varying
scales that is).

I think I've lost 8lbs over the past 2 weeks so if I
can keep up a steady loss over the next 2 weeks then I
see no reason not to get the reds again next month.
Even my BP is relatively steady so it's all good.

I went out last night, and took the car so I had 3
pints of soda water - but I'll make up for it with a
glass of rose tonight

Trying to add a second ticker to my signature - wish
me luck!

Well even though I've managed to lose my ticker, I'm
not
overly worried - I know that I've lost my first half
stone and I'm on my way to the second already (well 1lb
on the way).

This week I've not walked to work, so tomorrow I'm
going
to walk to the market and walk home again with the
shopping - some new curtains!

Monday 15th June - 10pm

Well, I've had one hell of a weekend - in fact I've
partied like it's 1999!

Friday night my friend Denise came round and we had a
drink at home before going to the local pub (karaoke...
how cosmopolitan are we?) then back to mine for more
drink and a good giggle at the world at large.

Anyway, I didn't get much sleep on Friday and the
hangover I suffered with on Saturday was an absolute
nightmare.  It's funny how you forget that with the
reds you are eating less (and not drinking) so a few
vodkas go straight to the head!

I didn't drive on Saturday (daren't) so I walked to
Ashton for the new curtains and a bite to eat.  I
couldn't eat or drink anything as I felt so rough.

Saturday afternoon was my other friend's 40th party in
Rochdale - Denise drove, I nursed the hangover!  I had
a glass of wine and 2 litres of water... and felt OK.

Saturday night, Den was going to another party and
invited me to go with her - I had the weekend to myself
so it was go to the party or go home and watch tv... so
I went to the party.  It was FAB!

I had a few drinks and some great food - had my photo
took in a victorian coffin and wore a bright pink
wig... so a normal Saturday at Liz's really haha

Sunday (blimey, does the action never end) I went out
with a different friend, and had 2 glasses of soda...
my liver has applied for that transplant again so I
thought I should make the effort and not drink
(actually, I just didn't fancy another drink).

So, it's been a great weekend and although I've partied
hard I've watched what I eat and tried to behave myself
foodwise.  I'm being good again and back to 3 meals a
day with no booze until weekend... even the bottle of
wine in the fridge will stay opened and undrunk until I
pour it down the sink (as opposed to down my neck)

Thursday 18th June

I totally spoiled myself last night - I went to a gig
(which turned out to be quite gruelling) and we left
after an hour... then went to the pub while we waited
for our lift home.

I'm sorry to say that I had several drinks, then some
more when I got home (suffering a bit this morning).

Tomorrow is a weigh day, and next Wednesday is nurse's
weigh-in so I'm going to have to work a bit harder for
the next few days - damn that Jason and his fantastic
"let's go to the pub" ideas

Friday 19th June

Got on the scales, saw that I'd put on the 3lbs I lost
last week, got off the scales and chucked the scales at
the wall.  Got back on scales... weigh 6st 5lbs and am
now possibly underweight ;P

Actually I was not surprised at the weight gain, but a
little disappointed in myself - I have no excuse and do
know better... but a weekend on the lash with your best
mate, and a night on the town (when you are supposed to
be at a gig) soon add up.  So as a self imposed
punishment I'm not going out this weekend - even though
I was supposed to - and I'm sat at the computer with my
1.5litre bottle of water.

It's my first weigh in on Wednesday so I'm going to
have to pull something out of the bag before then.

Can anyone recommend a good surgeon (I need a limb
removing)

thanks ladies for your supportive words - I try to keep
this diary as light hearted as possible and it always
makes me smile to think that other people read it (and
comment)!

As you know, I don't follow any real diet - just eat
what I always did, but smaller amounts.  I know that
Weight Watchers works, cos I did it several years ago
and lost 3 stone - it came back (like the proverbial
bad penny).

You'll be pleased to know that I've given up on the
surgery idea - bought myself some new shoes (4in heels)
and I'm going to look really stupid trying to hop in
them!

Tuesday 23rd June

I went shopping with Krynn on Sunday and she bought me
a lovely leather bound book - so no excuse for not
keeping the food diary!  I'm now 3 days into it and can
see already that Sunday should be purged from history
as I ate far too much stew and dumplings!

Monday, we walked to Ashton so that we could get the
bus to Oldham, then had a walk around for an hour
before getting the bus home.

I walked halfway to work this morning, and then met
Josh on the way back and walked home with him.  I did
have a bit of a treat - a Ribena Lolly, but it could
have been worse... I passed the cornetto and the choc
ices by without so much as a sideways glimpse

Tomorrow is my monthly weigh in - watch this space to
see if I get month 2 of the reds!

Wednesday 24th June (Official Weigh Day)

I was going to walk to work this morning, but as I had
to take some samples I decided I'd take the car (and I
had my official weigh in)

I got to the docs and had BP checked - Normal (woo
hoo), then I got on the scales and weighed 112.8Kg - I
was mortified.  I only started at 112Kg last month so
how can I have put on nearly a Kg.  My scales at home
tell me I've lost about half a stone so I was
absolutely gutted.
Lorraine, (lovely nurse) took me into the doctor's room
and weighed me on his scales - 110Kg - 2Kg off over the
month.

I was really pleased with this, until she checked my
original weight on screen..... 116Kg

It turns out that I've not lost 2kg this month - I've
lost 6Kg faint, swoon

I was absolutely stunned 6Kg in the first month is more
than I could have hoped for.  Grinning like a loony I
left the surgery with the promise of a new prescription
later today.

As it was still early, I decided to go home - where I
changed into my trainers, left the car and walked the
first mile to work in about 15 mins.  I'm walking the 2
miles home (with possible Ribena lolly treat) and am
feeling like the world is once again on my side!
