Sunday 5th July,

It's Sunday afternoon, and I'm just deciding whether to go the pub... actually I'm lying (I've already decided lol), but I am going to be drinking soda water so it's not the end of the world.

Actually, the reason for posting today was because I've just installed Mozilla Firefox and I wanted to see if it's compatible with this site and my ticker!

Right, I'm off to make myself look fab, and have a soda water - oh did I mention it's Karaoke too... move over Beyonce, Rachel's here - well we've both got big bums

Fiday 10th July

Well what a week!

I was fancying something sweet earlier this week, and after two days I decided not to fight it any more and go to the supermarket for chocolate.  Now, before you look away in disgust - I didn't go to the shop across the road.  OH NO, I walked a two mile round trip to the Asda for chocolate.  When I got there, I couldn't decide what I wanted, so I bought half a pound of mushrooms!

Yes, you read it right, by the time I'd walked to Asda and back I didn't fancy chocolate any more.  I did give in though and have an oatmeal and raisin cookie with some natural yoghurt though, which was delicious!

I think the walking is beginning to pay off - I put on a new pair of jeans and skinny tee shirt (Krynn got me wrong size, I didn't buy a skinny tee) last night, and Phil said he could see that I'd lost weight as I was looking slimmer around the middle - woo hoo!

Unofficial weigh day today, lost another 2lbs, which takes it to 18lbs in the six weeks I've been back on the reds.

Still only drinking one day a fortnight, which will be today as I'm going to Manchester this afternoon for a girly day out with 3 friends - cocktails and food.
Then for the rest of the weekend I'm at a gig tomorrow (no beer) and walking to Ashton market Sunday for fresh salad.

Feeling rather happy at the moment, although I'm missing the walking (bad weather and early starts at work).  No excuses next week - back in the trainers come rain or shine!

Thanks Fi,

There's too much "got to lose weight, got to put my life on hold until I'm thin" in life.  You have to grab it with both hands, hold on and hope it doesn't throw you off... but if it does get back on and hang on harder

I don't diet, I don't exercise - I just eat less crap, and I walk to work once or twice a week, and as long as I look at it like that it's just life.

Oh, and I party...... REALLY HARD!!!

Friday 17th July

Only 1lb this week - but still better off than on!

I'm now 17st and 1/4lb and I can see where my waist is starting to become quite a feature!

On Monday I have an appointment at the gym to see about joining.  I have never been a "gym bunny" type, but now I've started to walk I actually want to do more exercise (Skinny, you're turning me into an addict.... thank you so much!)

I've been invited out on Saturday, but have turned it down, I'd rather walk to Ashton and have lunch somewhere nice than spend it on booze - and it's NOT my drinking weekend!

Weigh in at docs next week - I'll update after that

Rachel - 1 lb a week is my goal as they way I look at it is my doc said I can have Reds for 10 months (approx 42 weeks).

A lb a week therefore equals 3st!!!

I did something pretty awesome today... I joined a gym!

It was time for me to up the ante and make the reds work for me, also I don't like walking to work in the rain!

I had my first session tonight, and although I'm absolutely knackered, I feel great

I didn't stay and use the sauna / jacuzzi (didn't take a big enough towel) but I am going back tomorrow and will do it then... I think if I can workout for an hour then a half hour soak and relax is just what the doctor ordered!

I'll let you know how long the novelty lasts with the gym... this could be the start of a whole new me?!

hi Rachel
well done, that is awesome! i havent been on this site for months now but just popped by to see how you all are going. so glad to hear you are doing well (and love your new pic, gorgeous!)

i'm still going to the gym 4 times a week and loving exercise. although missing it right at the moment as school holidays now and can't put my oldest kid in the creche.  so 2 weeks off but can't wait to get back there next week.

you'll find that exercise has so many benefits. mood elevating, toning, slimming, strengthening, fitness, social etc.

have fun and ease into it. don't get an injury at this early stage (or at any stage!)
cheers GG
