Thanks GG,

To be honest, I'm feeling it at bit in my arms today.  The muscles where my biceps will be (stop laughing, they'll be like Popeye's before long) ache - which is weird cos I only did one or two machines for arms?!

I've packed my bag at home so I can finish work, pick up my bag and head off to the gym for an hour tonight.

I think I'm going to try a class and then an hour in the gym... followed by a sauna and jacuzzi.  The sauna/jacuzzi had better be good, cos that's going to be my gym treat from now on.

My only problem so far, is that the music in the gym is a bit rubbish.  I like a good rock beat while I move - I find it easier to exercise if I'm listening to some rock like AC/DC while I do my workout, so I may have to invest in an mp3 player.

You are right about it lifting your mood - I felt really great last night... ready to take on the world!

i love that sore feeling! it's actually the feeling of muscles growing. you know that you actually have to actually tear (rip) the muscle fibres when you exercise and then as they mend they grow. so that soreness (not pain though) is a good sign. luxuriate in it.  i have muscle soreness all the time and i really love it.

definitely get an ipod. i also listen to rock (ACDC, The angels, party boys, kiss etc. bit of a time warp but i need the strong beat when i'm running). it's worth the money.

keep it up
cheers GG

I am feeling it today - I had a lousy night's sleep last night (seemed to be aching every time I moved?)

Today it's not so bad though, my thighs are sore but my arms don't hurt at all.  I'm back in the gym tonight for session.  I was only there 45 mins last night (I walked 3/4 mile to warm up and cycled 3 miles to cool down... so very pleased with myself).  I asked if I was doing long enough and was told "it's better to do 30 mins hard work than 60 mins of not so hard" so I don't feel guilty    The jacuzzi was good and I even had 5 mins in steam room - my face is looking much better for it.

I want to aim for 3-4 times a week, 3 times in gym and maybe a class once a week.  So far so good - if I could just get a good night's sleep!

Have my music all set for later - some AC/DC and Metallica - I'm doing the rock yourself thinner progamme lol!

Official weigh in with nurse, and on her scale I was 108.8kg, which she logged as 108kg.  I'm disappointed because these are the scales that were 2.8kg heavier than the ones last month.  Still, at least I got my prescription and I'm sure that my loss this month is about 6lbs overall.

Hoping for a good month next month as I've increased the exercise... but it's my son's 18th party next week so I may have to work extra hard!

No gym tonight - shopping!  Am back tomorrow though - it's the steamroom and sauna... my skin has never looked so good!

Friday Weigh In 24th July

I've lost another 2lbs this week -which I'm amazed to say brings my total to 21lbs since I started 8 weeks ago... Blimey!  Here I've been down about the odd 1lb a week and forgetting my own advice "all loss is good loss".  I'm totally wiped out

The gym has definitely spurred me on this week as the loss over the past couple of weeks has been 1lb (and that's been a struggle) so I'm back in the gym for an hour tonight then nothing until Monday.

Out this weekend, my sister-in-law's birthday today so we are going out tomorrow, then driving to coast on Sunday with my mom and dad.  I'm going to the sea side yay!

Well the weekend didn't play out as planned - gym Friday night, then shopping Saturday and working at home on Sunday.  Still, I wasn't tempted to have a drink (not out with sister in law) and I didn't have candy floss (not gone seaside with mom) so I think I did OK... well if you forget about the lemon meringue pie and cream for pudding last night!

Oh, I do think the gym is paying off... I whisked the cream by hand and it went thick really quickly - I didn't realise there were whisking muscles, or that they got so strong so quick lol

well done all... I am mow just coming up on losing my second stone in 46 days.. but it has caused some problems and now i have gallstones arghhhh ... so for the last week i havent felt much like eating anyway. i had another wiegh in and my bp and pulse are ok but i bought one of those mini machines to use just for convenience and to keep an eye on my health. a friend of mine has come on  them too but must have thought it was a magic pill but you have to have will power.

I'm having a very good day!

I had my weigh/measure at the gym (after 5 sessions) and according to their scales have lost 3.5lbs and at least 1/4inch from all the measurements (it's 1/2 inch off my hips!)

So, even though I sweat and ache afterwards, the gym is paying off and if I can carry on like this I reckon I'll be looking like Popeye by Christmas (well it's got to be better than looking like Bluto!) lol

Thanks Libby - it's Josh's 18th party on Saturday so I'll get pics then and post them next week!

Of course, any photos of me stuffing my face with corned beef hash, or birthday cake will be conveniently mislaid lol
