31st July 2009 I just don't get it? I've thought about it, but I can't work it out... 3 and 1/2lbs off this week! I think it might be the exercise starting to pay off - so I'm going to the gym tonight as I've got a weekend and a half planned! On Monday my son will be 18, so we are throwing a party on Saturday for him. There's food, and music and probably some dancing and drinking I've not had a drink for 3 weeks - so I've kept to my "once a fornight" rule, which I'm really pleased with and think could have a bearing on my 3lbs this week. In fact, I've been thinking about it and with this week's loss it means that, according to my scales, I've lost 25lbs in 9 weeks which is just amazing. Right, I'm off to work now, gym later and after that I have to fill 40 party bags with treats for teenagers!

Tuesday - I've pretty much got over the weekend now... yesterday I struggling to function like a human (such was the drinking and debauchery of the weekend). Josh had a great time, all the guests had a good time, I woke up after drinking a shandy or two and started drinking again... All in all, it's been a great weekend, and now it's back to reality and the gym and the reds (didn't take it on Sunday... I forgot!) I don't think I'll get weighed on Friday - I don't think that I can bear to look at how much damage I've done to myself

Morning Rachel, Glad your sons birthday went off well, sounds like you had a good weekend yourself! Ah well, you have to celebrate with your son don't you, it would be rude not to! I bet if you got weighed it wouldn't be as bad as you think wouldn't it be funny if you had lost some, well...you never know stranger things have happened! No weight loss for me this week I'm afraid, it was the t.o.t.m It's gutting when you look at the scales and they haven't moved from last time, I blame the battery! ( heehee )Still as long as they move again soon otherwise I'll have to give them a kick or two Well good luck at the gym your soon be looking like 'Twiggy'...ooh am I showing my age? Hey, 41 is a great age.... Take care Rachel, Debs xxx

Friday 7th August It'll come as no surprise after last weekend - I've not lost an ounce... in fact I've put on 3lbs! Do I feel bad? Do I heck - it was worth half a stone for the fab weekend I had I've only been to the gym once this week (and eaten sausage sandwiches for breakfast twice) - basically I've done everything you shouldn't do. I'm taking the rest of the weekend as "my time" and back to the programme on Monday. I'll let you know how I go on next week

Oh Rachel you do make me laugh at times - what a girl you are! Well at least you had a good weekend thats the main thing. I wanted to ask you a question.... On these 'reds' are we supposed to lose weight every week or do we have weeks where we don't lose any? I'm at the end of my 5th week and last week was t.o.t.m so of course I didn't lose any, but I've also not lost this week. Before I start to pull my hair out thinking 'Oh hell I thought at last something was working for me', I'd like to find out if we have weeks we don't lose even though we've been good. Well hey, I've only got short hair and I'd be bald in no time otherwise! I'm asking you because you've been on them longer than I have and I don't want to panic if theres no need to. Once I've been on them awhile I'm sure I will get to know the way they work for me. You know what it's like, you start on them and see some weight finally come off after trying so many things before, and then it stops for a week. The doubt creeps in abit doesn't it. Any advice would be helpful Rachel. Eh, and I don't mean 'Try a sausage sandwich' either ( Haha ) Have a good 'my time' weekend.......... Debs xx

Hey DebbieRose, I wouldn't worry too much just yet... I was once on a diet (really?) and someone said to me that sometimes your body needs time to catch up - so even though you've been really good this week it might not show until next week... I kinda get it and it does seem to be true. If last week was TOTM and you didn't lose, then this week you've been good and not lost it's not a real problem - maybe this week will see 2lbs instead of the usual 1lb?! Another thing is, the body really can't maintain the losing every week (well I don't think so) and there will be weeks when you just don't lose. I think the first thing is not to think "well that's that, it's stopped working, where's the cake" but to accept that the body sometimes doesn't play nicely and kick it back into shape by continuing being good. If you charted your loss on a graph it could well be up and down like a tart's knickers - but averages out at an overall loss. If you look at it as though we are marathon runners... sometimes we sprint, sometimes we walk... it doesn't matter to the judges how we get there as long as we complete the course! This week, I'm walking backwards - but my trainers are laced up and I'm ready to start running again on Monday Enjoy the rest of the weekend - I'm off to sit in the sun with a large glass of lemonade!

Oh Rachel your a star - you really are! I woke up feeling unwell and niffed off this morning, but I've just read your reply and part of it really made me laugh ( tarts knickers! ). You have got such a wicked sense of humour - I love it!! You always seem such a happy go lucky person - good for you!! With your wicked sense of humour I'd love to know what job your in. I think you'de make a great company executive, you'de really brighten up the company Thanks for your advice, I'll keep going and see how it goes. I've got to see the nurse Monday so I will ask her also about it. I'm hardly eating anything compared to what I used to, and if I eat any less my diabetes will go haywire and I'll be having hypos. Don't get me wrong - I'm not starving myself, I just don't feel hungry. No I'm sorry Rachel, I could never see myself as a marathon runner, not in a million years!! haha But yes I can see what your getting at. Just make sure your laces aren't tied together Monday when you start Well I'm going to sit in the sun today if it's nice and not worry. I can't get too much sun though because I'm having a tattoo done in few weeks time. OUCH!!! Have a good day Rachel, and thanks once again, Debs xxx
