Debs,

maybe that's why you're not losing... it really is important to keep eating - funny that, don't eat don't lose??

Talk to the nurse, and yes don't sit out too long - tattoos are painful enough without sunstroke to contend with.

My job?  I work for a small company as a receptionist/accountant/office manager/salesman etc - it really is a small company and I just do what's needed to run the office while my boss does the rest.

I've worked in big companies, and small, but this is my favourite for a long time (it's only 2 miles from home, so I can walk if the weather and mood take me)

Well, I've had mexican food for tea, but I can say honestly that I'm looking forward to eating sensibly again tomorrow and kicking my arse back into the gym... hang on, when did that happen?  I've finally grown up and am taking responsibility for my diet (damn, better stop now before it becomes a habit!)

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, and remember... aftersun and a tall glass of ice cold lemonade is essential for warm Sunday afternoons!

Morning Rachel,

Yep I'll have a nag eh sorry, talk to the nurse today.

Mexican food? Must admit I've never tried it. I have to stick to boring plain food I'm afraid because of my illness.
So you've finally grown up eh? Do we have to do that in life then??
You mean to tell me that your never going to have another sausage sandwich anymore? ( don't commit to that answer! ) haha

I had a feeling that you worked in an office enviroment. I think that you and your boss should change places. With your wicked sense of humour and your happy go lucky way, you could run the company standing on your big toe!

Well good luck with getting back on the straight and narrow with the rest of us.  Go show the gym you can tackle it ( whats a gym?? )haha.
Let us know if after going to the gym made you feel like a new woman again.
( Emmm, I'd be coming out feet first   )

Have a good day Rachel

Hi peaches

I know how you feel, but at least you've lost about a kilo, I've lost nothing.

This is the start of my 6th week, and yes I've had some bad days, but so far I've not thrown the towel in and eaten anything I shouldn't. And I've only lost 12lb in that time. I would have loved to have lost more, but there you go. I have been abit disheartened the last two weeks but I've resisted not doing anything silly. I'm hoping I will be off and running again soon, and I'm sure you will too.
Stick with it and we will get there ok!

Tuesday

I made an excuse and didn't go to the gym yesterday... I even came up with an excuse not to go today - then I saw a comment from Libby on Facebook.  It wasn't about dieting, it was a harmless fun comment, but it got my train of thought going...

Libby felt like the Hungry Caterpillar!

If you know the book, you'll remember that the caterpillar ate lots of things all week and at the end of the week he turned into a beautiful butterfly.

Well, my train of thought was that I was like the hungry caterpillar, but instead of turning into a butterfly I was eating and turning into... a fat caterpillar!

So, I shut down Facebook, and went to the gym!

I don't want to be a fat caterpillar... I don't even want to be a thin caterpillar - I want to be a butterfly!

And, if it means sweating it out in the gym - listening to "dance" music (oh the torture) then I'll endure it... I'm hoping for my wings in the months to come

Thanks Libby, even without realising it, you are my inspiration to greatness xx

I do enjoy the gym... it's just taking the step out of the door when it's raining!

I've only been 8 or 9 times, but I feel great afterwards - maybe its the endorphins (or whatever it is) kick in and I feel ready to take on the world.

I made the mistake of using the cross trainer tonight... my legs were so wobbly after 5 minutes I had to get off, I looked like an old woman hobbling to first weight machine!

I really want to go 3 times a week, as I do feel it's working in some small way (and I'm loving the sauna)

Back in the gym tomorrow night I think?  Watch this space... I'm shrinking out of it lol

Go on Rachel you can do it girl!

Even though I'm ill everyday I'm pushing myself to do my workouts.  For the last 4 days I've been doing 2 sets aday!!
Ok Ok so I feel like I've been hit by a bus today,( i've got the tyre tracks up my back to prove it! ) and my legs hurt like hell, but I'm giving it my best shot - as you do!
I've never tried so hard in all my life to lose weight than what I have since I started the 'reds'. I mean I'm really pushing myself to the limit, and yes I admit, some days it's just not easy is it?

I think your very good going to the gym Rachel.
No, I don't mean for the workouts, I mean I think your very good having to listen to DANCE MUSIC!  Ooooh that would cause me more pain than the workouts! When I put my workout dvd on I have to put my mp4 player on in my ears because I can't stand the rubbish music!
My music is a bit faster so I put more effort into my workouts that way - and enjoy it more

Ahh, I'm sure when your wings come you will look beautiful!
Me, well I don't think I've been thought about yet, so I've a long way to go before I even become a moth!

Girls, if any of you have the fancies for something chocolatie, ( especially at the t.o.t.m ) but don't want to spoil the diet, try making the slimming world fluffy chocolate mousse. The receipe is in the Slimming World Delicious Desserts book.
I've tried it and it's quite filling and it just takes that urge away.

Come on Rachel, grab that gym gear.....but whatever you do, don't start that running lark.  It's bad enough Kev putting us to shame!  I left him alittle friendly fun warning on his thread, have a look.

Friday 14th August

I've managed to shed the 3lbs I put on last week... and an extra lb woo hoo!

OK so it's only 1lb overall in 2weeks... but it's 1lb (and sausage sandwiches, and Josh's party) WELL WORTH IT!

I'm back in the game, and whilst I'm not running in the fast lane - I am actually on the track and my laces are tied properly

I've just noticed something on my ticker....

I'm halfway to my target weight (which I set 2 years ago, so it's been more tortoise than hare)!  When I lost 2 stone in just under 3 months I thought to myself... I'll hit this target in no time - piece of cake, (oh how wrong I was!)

It's been a long 2 years, and I've won/lost more than once - but I really do believe that I'm better now!

Better educated
Better fed
Better exercised
Just... Better

I'd like to hope that this new found Rachel lasts - but part of me misses the old "live now regret it tomorrow" Rachel - only part of me though.  New Rachel still lives life fast and loose, just not every weekend.

It's not quite my 2nd anniversary yet, that's in September, but I did feel that this milestone needed to be mentioned - even if only so I can come back in another 2 years and re-read it and wish I'd stayed on track

So to all the gang, old and new, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, thank you for the support, words of wisdom, and the odd kick up the bum... all of it was necessary at the time and all of it is appreciated!
