Well done Macduff i'm new to the forum and its great reading success stories it gives a lot of hope to someone like me who is a persistant failure at trying to lose weight. I'm not after a quick and easy weight loss with reds i know its hard work but i just needed a helping hand.
Thanks for the inspiration

Jo

You sound so happy.  If I have a down day, I will read your posts again.  Well done Macduff in the pink.

Aren't reds marvellous?

Friday Evening

Well, we are sat here together (me and Phil) and we are talking about exercise   He has offered to buy me a bike when i lose another stone so we can go out together - He cycles to and from work each day so he's getting regular exercise.

I think it might be a good idea (but not until the Spring cos I don't want to end up like Skinny's hubby on my first day out!)  Oh, and it's been about 6 years since I last rode a bike so a trike might be a better idea

We're also talking about Christmas, and will I still be taking the reds on Xmas Day?  Of course I will, so he's offered to make me a "little dinner" so i still get fed.
I don't know how little he thinks I eat now, or if he thinks that they'll be sat tucking into a big meal while I'll only get 1 pea and carrot slice
Still, it's great that he's taking this as serious as I am and he's thinking of me.  He's even NOT going to buy me the usual Xmas gift - a large box of Thornton's Continental - cos he know I'll eat them (probably at the expense of a proper Xmas dinner) lol

I think he's gonna get something gorgeous in Xmas stockings this year... ME!

Sunday afternoon

I have the hangover from hell!

I've been off the booze since the doctor gave me tablets for my arthritis two weeks ago, and to be honest I've not missed it!

Last night i was watching a film and fancied a drink so i had a glass of port.... this morning when we looked, i'd finished the bottle - Phil was pouring them and i was drinking them and they were great.

it's now 3.15 and my head still hurts, I feel sick and i don't know if I'm coming or going.

More than anything though I'm angry with myself - and I know that one blowout isn't the end of the world so I'm going to have to work extra hard this week and get back on track I think.

Thursday 22nd November

Well this week there's been no loss - but after Saturday night I'm not surprised!
I'm not unhappy about it, I just know that this week I've got to be better.  I'm off shopping on Saturday so that'll be a four hour hike around the markets (does shopping count as exercise   )

I wonder if it's psychological.... I was bad so I didn't expect to lose this week, therefore I didn't lose?
Or could it be a pattern emerging?
loss, loss, stay, loss - month 1
loss, loss, stay, ? only next week will tell

Bad Moment of the Week
Drinking too much and the subsequent day long hangover.

Fab Moment of the Week
Putting on a belt that I bought months ago in the sale - which of course didn't fit me - BUT does now and is holding up my trousers

Thought of the day
Only five weeks to Christmas, so if I'm gonna look amazing at the work's do I have got to get my finger out (of the fridge) and work at it

thanks debz!

I know there are gonna be good and bad weeks - which is why i'm not overly worried about this week's lack of loss.  To be honest, I had a great time drinking that port   and I really believe that if you don't have some fun while dieting you are not going to stick at it long term.

You know what, I'm still feeling good!

Rachel, I agree that for dieting to be successful, the treats have to be part of it.  Your posts are fun to read keep it up xxx

Thursday 29th

2lb loss this week - I'm pleased cos it takes me to the stone and half mark, but I can't help wondering if it could be better (OMG I'm turning into one of those I need to lose more weight birds lol)

Seriuosly, I'm very happy with myself today cos it's a bit of a landmark and I think I could still get to 2 stone for Xmas?!  I'm seeing the doctor this morning for a new prescription and it will give me great pleasure telling him i'm up to 21lbs - his scales are very wrong (where have i heard that before!), and although I'm losing when he weighs me I really go by what my scales say.

High Point of the Week
Got a new dress for the non existant works do!  It's a sort of 50's pencil dress style, very marilyn monroe, very vamp.  When I wear it I'll put it as my pic for a while cos I think its look fab

Low Point of the Week
Worried that i'm slipping into the eating cos it's there, instead of when I'm hungry?  If food's not around I don't think about it - but put it near me and I nibble - it's a reaction rather than a need.  Gonna have to work on that on this week

I'll keep you posted about the docs today

Morning to you Macduff.
One and a half stone . Well done you are doing so well but i can see where you are coming from when you say about the naughty nibbles coming back . I had really bad day yesterday and ate anything and everything. Feel really bad about it today. Why do we do this to ourselves? Got gasman coming to service the fire and boiler this morn but think i will pop to the gym once he has been. Best of luck at the drs .x
