Thursday 31st January This week I've not lost anything - but I've gained loads (metaphorically speaking)... I've discovered that I can have fun and be daft and not need to get pizzed to do it I've discovered that dancing like a 20 year old is OK - for 20 year olds (I'm aching today) and at 40 years I'm having more fun than I did when I was 25! Saturday is my birthday, so I want to share a cake with you all

Saturday 2nd February Today I'm 40 - and I feel fantastic! Thursday night I won 2 tickets to see "Magic" a Queen tribute band at the theatre which was pretty much the start of what has so far been an amazing weekend... I got to work yesterday and there were cards and the odd pressy (£10 for a pint from Cath, so I bought a bottle of champagne), flowers, body scrub - just fab. Lunchtime I ended up going to get a butty for one of the girls, she works p/time and doesn't have a lunch break so I went to Asda for her. When I got back there were balloons, huge badge, a large wine glass and a banner and lots of little "40" glittery things on my desk. It seems that they'd been trying to get rid of me all morning and I wouldn't take the hint That's not it though... later in the afternoon lots of people started turning up in the office and I was given the most amazing card (made by Sam) and signed by everyone and presents from all the staff!! I've worked so hard to be a hard faced miserable beggar and there I was speechless and amazed at the fact that I'd failed miserably and people might actually like me after all After work we went for a curry and I couldn't eat it all (sorry I wasn't going to mention the weight thing was I), then I finished up at my friend's in Rochdale drinking champagne at midnight and having a lovely time. Today, I got home and Phil has bought me the most beautiful gold locket. Josh bought me a handbag and a book (amazing gifts) and Krynn bought me a new purse and a foot long plastic biro... well I did want a pen! So far this weekend I've had the most amazing birthday, and tonight we're out for a meal with all my family. Birthday's don't get much better than unless WW3 breaks out tonight this is going to be something memorable! Oh OK, I got weighed today and although it's not an official weigh day I've only got 5lbs to go to 3 stone. Of course I'll end up putting on loads with all the food this weekend but I don't CARE - I'm having the best time ever and the diet can start Monday! Sorry for rambling, but I wanted to share my day with you all!

Well it's Sunday night and I've had the most amazing weekend! I love being 40! That man I married, yes you know the one who bought me the gold locket... well do you know what he did yesterday afternoon? We were sat at my parents' and I was opening my presents from my mom and dad, and he pulled out a little box and surprised me with the most BEAUTIFUL earrings! Then he only goes and makes it the best birthday the best I've ever had! If I died tonight I could honestly say that this has been one of the happiest days of my life! It's there with the birth of my kids, the day I married Phil, passing my driving test... oh you know what I mean! Meal last night was great, and my brother's fiancee is adorable. We've been out this afternoon and now I'm sat here eating bombay mix and drinking a vodka. Yes I know that I'll probably be as big as a house tomorrow - but I don't care because tonight I'm celebrating! Thank you to all of you for the birthday messages, love the photos jelly - bet it was a fab night! Right, Vodka here i come

Thursday 7th February Well what a week - I'm officially in my 40's... it's fab! I've decided that as I'm "middle aged" I should probably start to act like an adult?! So, I've decided that I'm going to have a mid life crisis (booked for April), buy a car that doesn't suit me (a robin reliant in orange), take up a hobby (lion taming) and have an affair. Now, the affair bit I've started already and it seems to be working for me. Each night I come home and sneak a half hour session. OK I know I should know better but to be honest I didn't think I'd manage to last longer than one or two sessions before the novelty wore off So while Phil is having a shower, or cooking tea I'm in front of the telly sweating my backside off with my hiphopabs man and his "tilt tuck and tighten" I think it's paying off though, cos after last weekend, and Wednesday night's Thai meal with work, I still managed to lose 2lb this week! I've been wearing my new size 22 trousers this week and they fit great - which is a full 2 sizes less than September 07. Krynn has bought me some combats (size 20) and I know they are going to fit me for Easter! High point of week... so many to list because of birthday - but I think it has to be that the dancing is paying off because my knee hasn't hurt so much since starting so maybe I'm getting a bit fitter? Low point of week... None really, it's been a great week Thought for the week... am I too old to "bodypop" and can anyone teach me how to "windmill"? I have to go, my other man is calling me - coming Phil! lol
