Hi all No I don't have the larger cuff and guess what? Neither does the doc - however, if my BP is not unduly high lets go with that now. I have also had someone put on a larger cuff and found it to be a lower reading so I know what you mean. As for enjoying my evening - well many weeks of cleaning hasn't been done and I've got to get it all up to scratch before 7pm tomorrow. I HATE cleaning and washing and stuff - for me it is endless.

Jelly I had the same experience re:the cuff. It may be worth mentioning it to your GP next time MG. And yes, my GP says it is the bottom number which is most significant. Mine is usually around 75 which he seems quite happy with, he is more concerned with my pulse now I'm on the Reds. I've seen him more in the last 6 weeks than in the last year it seems, but that's a good thing imo.

hi moodgoddess, a friend of mine who is also at home with young kids was tlaking to her brother who asked what she'd been up to (after telling her about his latest overseas adventure) and she replied "cooking and cleaning, cooking and cleaning". i love it as it totally sums up a careres life - whether you're caring for your own kids or someone else like your mum. i've thought about getting a cleaner but they'd need to come everyday as my 2 year old boy makes our house so messy! but really it's the folding the washing that i hate the most -there's always a mountain of it!

Oh I know that feeling! I spent 2 hours ironing tonight, just kept thinking of the calories I was burning. I actually don't mind doing the laundry, good job really as my lot produce enough of it. I just need to train them to put it in the washing basket instead of leaving it on the floor!

I think thats right - the diastolic is the main measure for GPs (2nd number). But I aint qualified so best to check with your GP in any case.

Had a flushed face yesterday but no palpatations. Been taking my suppliments of Vit E, Ginkgo Biloba, high strength Vitamin B complex to stop tiredness and a garlic capsule every day. Oh and a glass of Welche's purple grape juice. During the flushed face time diastolic was always in the 80's - looking good. Systolic never went above 153 but basically 139 or 142. More energy since being back on the B's - I have always had an issue with Vit B's and when I am not taking them I become a zombie. Scales reading 26st 5 and a half lbs so nearly knocked off the little weight I gained on my "holiday" if you can call it that! LOL My vice, the full fat Jersey milk on my Oat Crunchy has been replaced with the unsweetened non-dairy soya milk. It tasted vile the first two days - getting used to it now. I don't mind it on hot porridge. So, I guess in a week or so that reduction in fat will show a loss - hoping it might be so good as to tip me under 26st. I would love to have tipped under 24st by 8th November - going out somewhere special that day with the OH. Oh that would be lovely - *dreams* I can now also reveal that my bra is looser. It no longer cuts in and the cups feel a little baggy. It's not major but it's slowly coming. My measurements just don't seem to show a difference but then again the tape measure is a little small for some areas I was naughty yesterday. I ate some yoghurt coated raisens in the morning before my red which is not something I ever do and I couldn't finish my breakfast and became very hungry all day. First time I've taken a red on a stomach with food in and it doesn't work for me. My new jeans seem quite loose but they are stretch jeans and when you are big they stretch alot when you sit down and become baggy when you stand up. The truth with be when I wash them this morning and try them on from the tumble dryer. Can't wait to be the other side of Christmas and see how much I have lost. Christmas is in 17 weeks. I'm not sure I'll get on the Wii Fit before Christmas but I'm sure very soon after. I still have around 3 stone to lose which is 42lbs which is a minimum of 2 & a half pounds a week. Could be tough. Feeling good today.

Flushed face last night and this afternoon but no palpatations. Feel very drained today. Tried the scales - usual rubbish 26st 3lbs then get on again in the same place - 27st 3lbs. Dunno what I am bothering for I am very down.

Hi MG Hope that the mood soon passes! Hard to find motivation when there is no definite evidence. It will happen eventually if you keep on the way you are. Well done on making the changes with the milk. That would have been a biggie! Shows you are still in the right mental frame of mind, and growing ever stronger in your resolve to lose weight. Take care Sue

Hello Sue Yes the mood has passed I am sure it is the evil that is Jaffa Cakes which lifted it though lol. My jeans don't fall off me but they can be pulled down over half way down my bum now, but not quite going over the spare tyre in the front. So that's the next step see when I can pull the jeans off me without the undoing of the button and the zip! Had a bit of an allergy to the terrible fish and chips last night - shop bought ones - so I guess I'll cut those out, not that I ate them very often. It's daft I only had Jaffa Cakes for breakfast, (don't do this newbies it's the WRONG thing to do), and I am not hungry and that is less weight and bulk than oats. Maybe I feel a little better because I've had some fat in my diet which I have not had this week since giveing up the Jersey milk. Who knows I'll not knock feeling good and having a tad more energy. I am feeling "normal" today which is nice.
