Hi MG I am concerned about the "treatment" you are receiving about your weight from your GP practice. Not being able to be weighed properly or have your bp taken is a disgrace. Why don't you mention your concerns to the Practice Manager? If they fall on deaf ears, a veiled mention of the PCT should do the trick. Is there a suggestions box in the waiting room? Does your practice have a patients info. group? Most do these days because they get extra cash from the PCT. tHE GROUP WOULD CERTAINLY TAKE UP YOUR cONCERNS - the minutes of these meetings are sent to the PCT. hOW DID YOU GET ON IN COURT?

Oh my gosh - I feel terribly humbled by all your concerns, expecially as I had a bit of a moody fit for which I'm sorry. Thank you celt for your suggestions - I am going to bring this all up with my mum's doc who was the one who first prescibed reds and see if he suggests a way of getting me weighted properly. If not I'll go further and make my complaint. To put all your minds at rest, I won yesterday and got costs of £119 - I might have to go to court to actually get the money but there you go. I'd love to buy a gorgeous pair of high heel shoes - but I can't wear heels anymore. I might treat myself to a pair of New Rock ankle boots instead - I've always wanted a pair. Representing yourself is very scary. I started doing my weights today. Slowly and carefully and only 5 different excercises at 12 reps each, but it's a start. The small weights are only 0.5Kg each so I'm not going to do too much damage if I'm careful and follow the directions. I didn't eat til 3pm today as I had absolutely no appetite - so the reds are working. Ate quite a bit of fruit and a noodle soup with egg and a few slices of bread - the body fancied it. Had my meal of lambs steak with some new potatoes, sweetcorn, peas and courgettes. I've been thinking about this idea several people have mentioned of normal eating and seeing what occurs. I think the body does get used to having less food and reacts accordingly. The trousers I wore to court are definately a lot looser than they were. I ordered an XL t-shirt from The Dark Knight with the Joker's face on. It arrived today. It's quite tight around my tummy and spare tyre but on top - arms and boobs - it's fitting ok. Still a long way to go before I would go outside in it though. Hoping the weights will help my muscles. Thing is, is because of my size, I just dont have the muscles I used to. I don't know if I've mentioned before that I used to be a dancer, well the legs went very bad because they were all muscle once. Blokes could kick me in the calf muscles and it didn't hurt and didn't bruise either. There is still quite a bit of muscle in there due to having to hold up my weight but there is way too much fat. I once had nice legs - now they are just blobs. Also lack of muscle makes doing other aerobics excercises much harder and makes one less inspired to continue. For example when the OH tracked down a proper UK Wii machine for my Xmas present last year, I really hoped I could use it to get fit and I did start, but then I really hurt my left shoulder through tennis and bowling and my enthusiasm waned. I suppose my frustrations are born from the fact that even at almost 2 stones loss - I still can't go and by a top to fit me. And of course this inability for anyone to seeingly weigh me correctly. Ah well - onwards and upwards. Well, not upwards on the scales of course, down is more preferable.

Well done re the court case. I am the chair of the patients info group at my own surgery which is why I was horrified about your experience - hand picked to be on the group for my realism I believe! The next time I go, I will ask how much the scales weigh. Large blood pressure cuffs aren't even very expensive.

Hi Moongoddess. I felt awful for you when you said you had to go to Court. Im glad it's all over now and you can treat yourself. And also I would stop weighing yourself!!! For a week or two at least. The torment isn't worth it. Myself- I fell off the wagon. Back to eating lots and lots of sugary choclaty crispy rubbish. Stopped taking reds for a while because I got awful constiptaion. Like really really painful with blood. Has this ever happened to you? Or do yu know anyone this has happened to? Im really embarrassed to go to the doc about it and even off the Reds it still hasnt gone away.... Not sure what to do? Any advice would be a great help.

Hiya Moonie :P How you doing? Hope things are a lot brighter for you and you are keeping positive. Hi loveactually, it sounds like you have piles, maybe a thrombosed one. Red are known for causing piles, think its something to do with the constipation. Preperation H is very good, Jellybaby helped me sort my ablution problem with linseeds sprinkled on food, not looked back since. I understand where you are coming from at the moment with chocolate. I have been beating myself up over something that happened a year ago and eating junk food for the british isles. Sharon x
