Weighed yesterday as Sunday is my weigh day and I was 26st 1lb - the same today and I'm quite constipated so I guess I'm actually 26st or even, heaven forbid 25st 13lbs - we shall see!

I think it's using the weights that is helping.

hi moodgoddess - that is so fantastic.  you must be chuffed!  i think the other thing about exercise (besides burning calroies etc) is that it makes you feel happy, virtuous and also helps you stick to a healthy eating plan because you don't want to waste the workout by eating fatty foods.
so glad it's going well.  what exercises are you actually doing with the weights?  love to hear what you are doing?
cheers geminigirl

All I am doing is following the chart that came with the dumbells - or intelligent-bells as I told my brother lol.

The first lot are done with 1Kg weights in each hand. I am doing 20 reps lifting from shoulder heit to right above my head, 20 reps pulling from arms by my side to chest height, 15 reps, (a new one I added), from hands by my side to lifting arms straight out to shoulder height, 20 short squats, 20 wide squats, 15 lunges on each leg - I still find this hard.

This lot are done with 1.5Kg weights in each hand. 25 classic arms by side and curls weights up to shoulder height, 25 each arm which is extended straight up next to ear then curl down at angle behind head and 25 each side of side stretches.

All of that probably isn't very clear.

I also put in a rest day every 4 days so I don't injury to newly forming muscles by over working them.

It's not making miles of different and it only takes me about 20 mins each day but it's a start. As I get stronger I will increase the reps and maybe try the pilates in a week or two as well.

I am always walking up stairs now and it is getting a little easier. I miss my muscles being strong.

Just wanted to add I am very constipated this week and I weighed just to see how much I am holding and it's at least 2lbs of food which is slow moving. I've been on Activia and veg but it's slow!   I do feel very bloated but I'm not panicking about it.

I am only going to the loo once every 2 days so it's a little uncomfortable.

HI
WELL DONE!!!!!
Your doing so well now, just keep it going.
The bunged up feeling isn't good at all is it?? I have had it a few times, have you tried beni fiber, you can put it on your food or mix in a drink.  If not I always find, and I know this sounds really daft but my daughter suffers alot with constipation (she'll kill me if she see's this!) and we have found that Vimto or Mc D's diet coke works wonders. (just don't pick up a big mac with it lol

xxx take care Ali

After eating that extremely delicious burger at Goodwood but feeling sick and full of wind all day, I don't think a burger would ever be in the offing! LOL

I got some dried apricots today so will try those - always helped my mum who thought she was ill after eating them!

Also, my bra is getting very loose now. The straps slip down quite a bit. Just wish the tummy and spare tyre would go down. Got quite a few things fitting me now except they are still too tight on the tummy and spare tyre area.

Had my flu jab today and the nurse was pleased to see I didn't need a plaster as I wasn't bleeding afterwards!

I had my flu jab to yesterday.  Got a lump on my arm last night and it's bloody sore too!  My mum had hers just before me and she has nothing, think the nurse doesn't like me.

Hope the dry fruit works!

MG my bra straps are doing the same! Annoying, but a sign that the weight is shifting at least. I onder how long I can keep tightening the straps before I have to buy new ones?

I'm starting to feel the muscles forming now. Stomach and certainly across my torso.

I have upped the classic arm curls and side stretches to the 2.5Kg weight, this is because I want to lose on the hips area and mid tummy area a bit faster than it is currently going.

I was seriously abused when I was out with my brother yesterday. Two kids about 5 and 3 got quite nasty one pointing at me in a restaurant saying to his dad "Look at that!" and his father turned round, as did the rest on the customers and then turned back again saying nothing.

The little girl shouted out very loudly "Mummy? What is that woman so fat?" the woman smiled at me, the restaurant all turned and looked at me again and nothing else was said.

I did go up to the woman and loudly said, "If I was black and your child had said "Mummy? Why is that woman so black?", I would have you in court."

She just gasped and didn't even apologise!

A little later the husband found me getting my car park ticket and profusely apologised and I told him off a bit. He told me his wife was German and I asked him if he thought me talking about Nazi's, WWII and "bloody Germans" would be acceptable because his wife was from a different country and he conceeded it wasn't and again apologised.

I was very down and had ice cream - too much really but it ruined my afternoon out with my Bro.

Awww Moonie i am so sorry you had to be subjected to this.
How dare the parents just sit there and not say a word to there brats! If I dared to speak out of turn when I was a kid, my legs would of been sore from a slap. Now adays kids are just aloud to be far to vocal and if there not corrected, this shallow way of talking will get worse as they grow up!
I'm going to shut up now because this is one subject that really pi**es me off and I will get on my high horse.
One more thing to add,  if it happens again, just walk up and say your  mummies ugly, take a good look thats what your gonna end up looking like! Bet the mother starts to do something then.
