Ooh I could smack those damn scales!

OK this morning I weighed 27.11, 27.9, 27.7, 27.5, 27.0, 26.11, (oh I laughed out loud at this one for the sheer humour!), 27.11, 27.5, 27.5, 27.8. All weights taking within 20 minutes and on the same place on the bathroom floor.

I have quite expensive digital scales which go up to 30 stones, so I'm not on the limit of it or anything.

I tried changing the weight to Kg and came out several times at 174Kg which is 27.4.

I'm actually beginning to think I've not lost anything at all now! I wouldn't mind but I reached midnight before I had a sandwich last night as I didn't fancy any dinner at all. I feel REALLY stuffed this morning after the same breakfast I always have.

Do you think I have a ghost in the scales who is having a laugh with me?

Am I doing a good line in retaining water?

Is watching "In the Night Garden" causing me a mischief?

Now, this is what I would do in your shoes. ahem - take 10  readings and then find the median. As in add em all together and divide by 10. HEHEHE

Actually, as I can't be stuffed to do statistics homework before brekky, I just take the two measurements that read the same as being most accurate, if the sweet position on the floor is being especially elusive, (Here read - not agreeing with my desire to show a loss) Now that is as weird as it gets... honest

I always think that one bad meal will cause heaps of weight to go on, and I suppose the reverse is true too.  But actually it is the accumulated effects of many minor slip ups that cause problems. This is why it is unnecessary to freak about one bad slip, it won't all come piling back on there and then. Conversely, it takes quite a few days of making minor changes that then accumulate to cause a weight loss.

I know that  I am not telling you anything you don't already know, just never hurts to remind ourselves that change takes time and not to lose heart either way. (Slip up or no sign of change after being good)

I think watching "In the Night Garden" should be fine, let's just call it research hey? I used to watch all the kiddies programmes, and I still enjoy some on occasion.

Well, bed beckons again. I am a tad sleepy after my late night last night. (it was actually early hours of this morning) And I have an annoying headache over my left eye. I feel all sorry for myself. I am such a baby about headaches.

Night
Sue

Hiya,
Could it be that your scales need a new battery?

Can I make a suggestion that your probably not going to like. Stop weighing yourself so much. It takes a full 7 days to show a real weight loss, so through out that 7 day period your weight can can fluctuate up and down.
My husband has hid mine and he weighs me once a week, then I get weighed with the doctor monthly, but no way could I wait a month  between weigh ins, thats just way too long , lol.

Hi Shazzy

With regards the battery I only changed it about a month ago. But if it plays up too much I'll go and just change the battery again.

Yes I know not weighing for a week is a sensible suggestion. *slaps own wrists*

Have not weighed this morning so have nothing to report

I am feeling very full again and only had an apple for breakfast as I just couldn't stomach the oats today.

Will weigh tomorrow for my usual Sunday morning weigh in and see if I'm any closer to meeting the Weekly Challenge.

Just to explain my ticker - this is the count down to being able to use the Wii Fit.

Hi Guys... I've just started reductil today (wish I knew what a red is??) my doctor has prescribed 10mg for me but they're not red!! I don't feel hungry but have got a blinding headache. I am a bit worried about sleeping tonight and hope it will be ok as i need my sleep!!

I am wondering if there is a way on this forum to swap msn with someone who has got 8 stone or more to lose so that we can support each other?? anyone up for that? I am female and in my fifties (although I can't beleive that myself!! feel only about 25!)

Bluebell. xx

SORRY MG..i think I should've posted this elsewhere.. think I have posted this on your thread. apologies. xxx

Well today the scales said 27st 1lb - YAY. However in Kg mode it said 171.8Kg which is apparently doing a convertion 27st half a pound.

*runs round flapping arms* nearly in the 26's!

The hair loss thing seems to have been a blip. I have brushed and washed my hair daily since the scare to check what was occuring and no severe hair loss seems at this time to be occuring.

Bit tired today.

My knee aches too - well a stone off is a drop in the ocean at the moment.

Still sleeping well.

And the most wonderful thing - I didn't mention much to the OH but yesterday he took a double take and said "You look different. Yes, your face looks slimmer".

That put a glow in my tummy! *blushes*

I'm having a bad time.

The Reds are working, I'm not hungry, infact most days I have to force myself to eat as I really don't fancy much. I'm even starting to leave some of my oats in the morning as I just can't manage them. But I'm not losing, if anything I'm gaining.

The scales are still acting like a spoilt child.

And before someone quotes "inches not pounds" I can't feel anything I'm wearing getting any less tight on me.

I'm excercising more too.

Don't understand.

Last week I felt really good about myself but then caught sight of me in a shop window and realised no-one would notice a difference for months, so I should stop going round like I was thin and realise it'll take time. Feeling pretty low this week.

Strange because this has only occured since I started and new and different packet of Reds.

Not only drinking for the UK but Europe as well.
