Oh yeah, forgot to say still not feeling hungry. But I'm definately feeling deflated. The first month was great, the second month was ok and now I feel like I've put on weight again. Bloated and frumpy which may well be the cycle but mentally I'm low.

Hi MG, I've only just discovered this forum and I'm not as experienced as some on here, but I really enjoy your diary and it keeps me focussed knowing that others are experiencing similar things. Sorry to hear you're not well, TOM is rough enough without feeling poorly and down about weight. YOu'll feel fab when its over and that 7lbs drops like a stone again. Chin up and keep posting - we're listening!

I am so pleased that there is some respite care for your mother at last. You sound really down and with good reason - is there any chance that you can have a short break? Don't know where you live but I was in Kingston M&S yesterday where they had some very nice trousers and tops in sizes 28 and 30 with prices from £3 for the tops and £5 for trousers - end of sale. It may be worth a look in your local one. So far as exercise is concerned, have you thought about one of those pedal cycles which you can use whilst sitting down? Please try to use this respite time wisely and negotiate a lot more - the bottom line is that by looking after your mother, you are saving the authorities a fortune and its payback time.

Hi celt. Actually I'm going to Kingston on Thursday but I would guess 28 or 30 just wont fit. I'll take a look though. As for a pedal cycle - I've tried looking into this stuff. I'm just too heavy for the affordable stuff. I couldn't afford a cheap one anyhow but my OH looked for a cross trainer for me which he was going to buy but for my weight it was going to be over £1000. I tried the clothes back on to show mum and give her a laugh and I put one of the cardi's on and it's like a tent on me - same size as the rest of the stuff though! The rest of the stuff is quite a lot smaller than I would have hoped. It did make her laugh though!

They were on a rail in a corner of the elevated section of the first floor on Monday but could be anywhere by now! M&S are having another sale starting on Thursday as well as the Dinner for two for £10 offer again. Hope you have some success.

Right mum is away for 13 days - comes back 2nd September - YAY! Today I got on the scales and not a dickie bird of movement - in fact 2lb on at 27st 1lb I then move the scales to where they were on the floor a few weeks ago when I weighed about 26st 10lbs and I was now weighing 26st 6lb I am a little bit sceptical but I'll go with it for now. I won't move my ticker for a bit just to be sure. If it's true though that's getting mighty close to 2st loss and no real different in my shape! However, I guess the body size might start to show and clthes get looser when I get into the 25st area. When I lost a stone a couple of Christmases ago, I was about 26st 9lb and when down to just under 25st 9lbs for Christmas. Things did seem looser then. However, due to the mother and care workers not being here, I will this evening spoil myself with a M&S shove in the oven pasta or something and maybe be REALLY bad and buy an M&S banoffee pie! Then again maybe not!

I've just read back through my posts and I've got a tear in my eye. For all the waffle I go on about the scales, I somehow think these Reds must be working for me. Ijust thought that if I really am down to 26st 6lbs that is a lot of weight to lose and maybe, just maybe, this really might work for me. What if by Christmas I could use the Wii Fit? That would be just awsome!

Well I have been a tad naughty over the weekend, but I was also sick on Sunday OK so I weighed again today and the scales are 26st 4lbs - great! But I moved the scales a couple of inches and it was 27st dead. I think my middle tummy is coming down a bit though - oh that sounds awful doesn't it? Middle tummy? LOL However, measurements are not showing any difference. I also felt very empowered and returned those awful clothes back to Evans and spoke to the girl behind the counter. Interesting information she gave me. Apparently Evans only check clothing on models at size 16 and size 22, for every other size they just expand the clothes but don't test if the clothes look right on a model. She too was angry they made high street fashion clothing by just taking a Top Shop size 10 and making it bigger, which is apparently what they do. She also agreed that people up to size 32 do not want tiny cap sleeves as many customers complain they want to cover up their large arm tops. This girl was also very large and felt extremely let down by Evans in the last few years. She agreed that just coz it says size 32 doesn't actually mean it'll fit someone size 32. This has helped me to put the clothing thing back into perspective and not worry about it much. As for the weight thing - well what can I do? Just keep eating correctly and doing as much exercise as I can and I'm sure slowly it'll come off.

Hi MG I hope you are enjoying a break from your mum. Well done on what you have done so far, the bloody scales are a pain when they wont settle. I wonder if you can get a piece of conti-board to stand them on and then leave them there? Might be worth a try maybe. I think its really bad that evans cant get their act together with these size issues. When I see stuff in their catalogue that shows a top as being quite long i think, thats nice, it'll hide my belly but then its doesn't..and if it does it shrinks in the wash..or the dryer if one of the kids does some washing. Dont pay too much attention to the clothes though, its how you feel. If a top you have loved for years feels looser then something is happening somewhere. Keep at it. Kez x
