I spoke with doc about Reductil but he wasn't willing to prescribe it.  He also told me if I went to bed hungry I would eventually get over it and get used to reduced levels of food.  Then he admitted he was told that but was lucky he'd never had to diet.  I lost a lot of weight when I was younger (went down to about 9 stones) but only by madly overexercising and cutting calories to 800 per day.  I'd be ecstatic to be a size 12 these days.

hi all

firstly i would like to say keep going to you all and keep your heads up. I started my weight loss in december and upto now have lost 5 stones.

i heard all the horror stories and thought to myself i would suffer as well. I came to realise that everyone is different and have different side effects.

The secret is to eat not low low fat but foods that have minimal saturated fat. This is the one to avoid.
If anyone needs a tip or a helping hand i am more then happy to offer my advice.

hi, i have been looking at the saturated fats, rather than just the fats. i'm so lucky, that i only have to feed myself,so i must admit to buying stuff i can micro wave! i'm looking for low fat choc ices now! the nearest so far are "skinny cow" on a stick!

The Skinny Cows aren't bad Cassie - but the fruit smoothie ones are better than the choc ones to be honest!
Have you tried them?

Mini Milks are always a good treat too!

How are you finding it?

Hello everyone,

Day 4 of my Xenical and I admit to being a bit puzzled.  I expected to have some side effects, but no, not one single thing.  I've been very careful to keep below 4% fat and also no more than 15g in any meal (actually under 10 most days).  Am hungry but not completely starving and my fruit and veg intake has gone through the roof.  Out to dinner at a friend of my partners on Saturday and apparently she does these big 6 course meals.  Might have to lay off the tablets for that day but still intent on watching what I eat.  Have to stay away from the cheese board - I have no "off" button when it comes to cheese!!

I was thinking the samr thing Alikazam!
But yesterday I had a cheesy bean hotpot at work ast lunch time and then 2 small slices of pizza, salad and homepatade potato salad (light mayo) at night and I had some oily side effects before bed!!!!

That was a learning curve - think I need to regulate my fat intake throughout the day a bit more!

CMFAM posted a good link to the forum on the Alli website - worth a look - there looked like some good recipes on there too
x
