Hi Cassie,

You are right - its very quiet onthese boards compared to the Reductil boards which I am used to.

Anyway - have you started today with your Xenical tablets?
I started on Friday but went to a BBQ yesterday so cheated by not bothering to take them...

Today I have taken one with lunch and breakfast
I had weetabix with S Skim milk and fruit for breakfast
and a piece of gammon and salad at lunch... plus 2 s skim cappucino's as usual
No side effects as yet apart from a bit of wind and a bit constipated... but the fruits are helping with that...

Will let you have a weight loss update next week!

Let me know how you are getting on
x

hi again princess, how is it going?
i seem to be ok, no side effects yet! i think i'll get weighed once a week. ayoung friend of mine has borrowed the money for a gastric bypass,i think she could have tried a bit harder on the pills first!

Yeah - for me a gastric band or bypass is a very drastic measure to go to...
Plus I love food and both those things dramatically change your life... forever!

I have got terrible wind still - and i had some oily stuff the other night but i had a bad day food wise so i know why...

The Alli website is really really helpful - loads of info on there

I'll update you on the loss on Monday!

Hi girls! I have just found this forum - just been prescribed xenical today. Sounds scary with all the side effects!! I am 25, a mummy of 2 little boys. I have about 2 and half stone to lose. Im only 5ft 2 and 11st 11lbs so quite overweight for my height!!! I have been trying to eat sensibly and started at a local gym which i have been going to regularly since i joined in April but my weight is stubbornly staying the same!!!! So my dr is starting me on Xenical. How have you been doing on it? I am seeing a dietician tomorrow to plan a healthy eating diet as i dont really know where to start with this controlled calorie intake and fat percentage thing!! xx

Hi VikkiG

Keep us posted on what the dietician says then as I think me and Cassie are both a bit clueless on how to do it properly...
I think I have lost a couple of lbs since I started on it 10 days ago...

How I understand is that you should consume 30% max of fat from your daily calorie intake...
Mine works out at 1800 cals and 19g fat per meal...
However, I am a bit crap at working it out... it says you shoud aim to eat your fat and calorie allowance without going over - but thats hard to work out...
5 spears of asparagus for example contain 0.7g fat!!!!!

I have a terrible weekend of eating (I had ploughmans on Sunday with loads of cheese and then spag bol!!) and have suffered 'the dreaded effects' loads :o(
(Not poo'd myself or anything don't panic - just lots of oil being passed out of my body'

Let us know how you are doing Vikki
xx

Right well dietician says i am allowed 1600 calories per day. dont have to worry about a certain allowance per meal but have a chart of the food groups and i have to eat a certain amount of portions from each group. I dont have to watch the fat, just use low fat everything. I did tell her about the Xenical but she has put me on this method as she says that it will still work out as long as i follow the advice. So i will give it a go and if it doesnt work out then i will rethink it all again!!!
For example i am allowed 6 portions of cereal and breads, 6 fruit and veg, 3 milk and dairy, 2 meat and fish and 2 fats with 230 calories spare for treats. I then have another chart to tell me the size of a portion. im mentally psyching myself up for it! xxx

God that sounds so complicated!

My advice would be... DON'T EAT CHEESE!! whatever happens
lol

Keep us posted on here how you get on
What exercise are you planning on doing?

I go horse riding once a week and swimming twice usually but maybe less this week as I have been a bit poorly :o(
