Hi everyone,i'm back after having tried the reductil and being quite successful on them but i suffered with feeling constantly sick! I'm now gonna give the orlistat a try and hope they will work? got a holiday booked for july which is a really good incentive, wish me luck!!

Good luck with getting ready for you holiday in July! Are you going anywhere nice?

Judith, Orlistat is the active ingredient in Xenical, check it out online it's all there, and would also be on the packet.
Are you going to take the plunge do you think ? it can't hurt.

Cheers,
Jay

hello
Thanks elvisfan for that, but im a little confused, if orlistat contains the active ingrediant thats in xencial - arent they the same thing?
im just googling orlistat now to find some information out.
Im still not sure whether to try or not, xenical seems that it might be quite a complicated one to take with trying to figure out the % of fat daily taken etc! Im far too old and forgettfuly for all that! Plus the thought of having accidents and leaks of fatty oily deposits doesnt really appeal. Not sure a tena lady pad would suffice with that kind of thing!
Are you taking xenical? if so, how long for and are you finding it helpful?

Hi Judith,
Orlistat is the generic name and Xenical is the trade name it's sold under, so it's one and the same.

I think what akaLadyk said in an earlier post was right about the recommended amount of fat when taking Xenical is no more than 30% of your daily diet. The claim is that also 30% of fat is absorbed by Xenical. You just have to follow a VERY low fat diet but don't exclude any of the food groups. Just diet in the normal way, maybe follow weight watchers in your head as I think you liked that diet and see what happens.

Yes I did try Xenical but didn't give it long enough. I never have eaten a high fat diet but it was my appetite I needed to control, hence the reductil. Xenical is not an appetite suppressant as you know. Saying that a lot of people as I've previously mentioned love Xenical and don't have any side effects. The point to remember is that it doesn't affect the brains function, blood pressure or heart so it's got to be far healthier.

As I said before, you'll only know if you try it, but get it from the doc not online, only the price of a prescription.

Hi Judith, I'm taking xenical and it is doing the trick. I'm also taking
chromium to stop me craving lovely sweet sticky things! It's only been a
few days of the chromium - i havent noticed any difference yet though.
