Hello I wonder if anybody could recommend some exercises that I could do at home, I have a couple of light weights and a fitball and also a yoga band that stretches. I am 59 years old and already go to yoga classes, swim and walk alot with my friends. I would just like something to do at home when I dont go to my classes. judith

hello Discostick Where would I find the posts on workout videos? I am trying to be alot more active these days, but sometimes it is hard to get to a class or get out for a walk. So it would be nice to have something I could do at home. Im not sure Id like all these jumping around and dancy ones though! Something more suited to the older lady! Any ideas? judith

There was another post that talked about exercise classes on you tube that you can follow from the privacy of your home. I tried one or two and they left me feeling exhausted! Her name was tracy something or other, have a look at the other posts... WA

Was it Tracey Anderson ? WA, the one who trains Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow ? she's great and there were some quite easy to do at home exercises. Jen

hello Thankyou for the information about home training, I had a look at You Tube and found this lady Tracy Anderson, I didnt really like the things she was doing and to be honest it was far too energetic for me! I am 58 years old afterall! I would be looking for something a little gentler! judith

hey peeps For Judith - you can try getting yourself a Pilates dvd or a Pilates book - there are some great ones out there, and most of the exercises are fully explained and will be fantastic for keeping your posture and core strong. Plus they arent jumpy around types of exercise and you can do them in the comfort of your own home anytime! You can also get yourself an elastic band and that you can use for a little bit of extra resistance, some dvds are sold with these! If you look out for books like The Classic Pilates Method by a lady called Miranda Bass. Hope that helps! Fi

hello Thankyou Fiona for the information about Pilates, I have heard some very good things about that. Its meant to be good for posture isnt it? I had a look in waterstones today and found a booked called 'Classic Pilates' and it is by the same lady, she looks kind of older in age, so I am presuming she is a little younger than myself and well if she can do it, then why shouldnt I! Thank you again for your advice and I will keep you posted about my progress. This evening I am going salsa dancing with some friends! judith

I'm a mature man, and I've been enjoying taking out bicycles with my wife, its not too strenous and you get to see the country side. It gets you out and about, and I take the grandkids too who love it.
