Hi There,

I have an amazing partner who is 43 (ten years older than me). We have a very loving relationship and talk about everything including his issues with impotence. He tells me that the problem began during the break up of his marriage, and that his ex was very insulting regarding his performance and desires. We have talked about it and I have re-assured him that I love him, that he is a wonderful and considerate lover and that our sex life is only part of our relationship. I do however now find myself reluctant to initiate love making in the fear that he will feel pressured and that this will make things worse!! At my suggestion he spoke to his GP who suggested that knowing the history of the previous marriage, he is not suprised that he has difficulty and has offered to prescribe Viagra. He has recently tried Kamagra, which was recommended by a friend and seemed to be effective. I have today read information on this website suggesting that Kamagra may be dangerous. There seem to be so many types of medication that I am confused!! Help and advice appreciated please!!

A very loving and adoring girlfriend who just wants to help!!

I think if your GP is willing prescribe Viagra he should go with it. As I understand it Kamagra is a generic viagra and depending on where you get it there may be a risk of it being fake, or worse. Go with the genuine from a straight source. As to your man's problem- it it close to my own in history. A lot does have to do with confidence. If Viagra can take away his fears and leave you both happy then with time he may find he can reduce his use of it as confidence builds. This is the way of it with me and now I fallen back on taking something when I am nervous. I have tried both Viagra and Cialis and use them both on different occasions. Viagra for overnight occasions (seems to be good enough in the morning), and Cialis if it is to be an extended period like a weekend. Both seem to work for longer than the stated period and leave me frequently with 'morning wood'. In the case of Cialis this goes on into the following week. Sleep is also a good thing. In combination with clean white sheets, a good woman, Cialis or Viagra (but not both), confidence rises along with the obvious... and it all makes for a very happy blend. After a few sessions like that I found that I could cut right back on the tablets, but when my partner and I were feeling particularly fruity the tablets did enable rather more action. I hope this helps. By the way I am 49.

Hi there,

I can understand the need to tread cauciously with your partner and it sounds like you are being great and supportive.  After my relationship broke up and started with a new partner I found myself having anxiety before each sexual encounter with my new partner and it was getting hte better of me.

I started on Viagra and well i feel so confident and happy that i feel silly for getting worked up about it in the first place.  It also helped that my partner was like you, very loving and caring and not to mention patient.

I have read about Kamagra and as Al said above, it seems like it is not worth the risks, viagra or cialis are so well established that I don't worry about them, especially after reading on this site and all the posts that the dude has.  In fact you could ask him directly and he will be really great in asnwering any of your questions.

hope this helps and your partner is lucky to have someone like you who cares.

hello
I just came across this and was taken aback at the wonderful honesty and such caring nature Em - you seem like a lovely lady and Im sure your partner is so appreciative of your support.
I am 68 years old, widowed and now with a wondeful lady - unfortunatley due to things Id prefer not to go into, I suffer from ED and am looking for information about Viagra and Cialis.
I note Al that you say not to take both? are there reasons for this? Can you not use both at the same time or over the same weekend? What exactly is the different between the two?
