I've been reading that African mangoes are good for weightloss - apparently its a new study. I don't know if it means just eating a lot of the fruit itself, or if it has to be an extract of the seeds. But they need to be a special mango from Cameroon... I think it contains a soluble fibre, like those that are found in oats and apples but even better, that act as a “bulk-forming” laxative. These fibres delay gastric emptying and therefore cause a slower and controlled absorption of glucose into the blood stream, which helps to control insulin levels and lowers cholestorol... Has anyone tried this diet or the supplements themselves?

No never tried it. but how good would that be for the GDP of cameroon?? if all us fat westerners couldnt get enough of their mangoes. any fruit is a bit of a laxative tho if you eat enough of it. mangoes lift your mood tho - ive heard that somewhere

you need to eat the extract of the seed though -so its got to come in pill form and you cant get it at boots yet - i asked today.. there's a Doctor - Dr Oz in America who has been raving about it. But having just had a mango only day on my fruit fast, i think i might be over mangoes for good..! but its supposed to burn excess body fat and lower choloestorol and suppress appetite without you having to change your diet it all. Sounds like another myth!
