Hi folks i'm a newbie to this site.  Am desperate for help with my rapidly diminishing hair and have started a product called 'Nourkin', it apparently takes about 6 months and £300 before it starts to work, has anybody else tried it, am i wasting my time and cash!
Many thanks and glad i joined the chat.

Spritey - Nourkin looks like snake oil to me. Complete waste of money. If you are receding as fast as you say get on propecia and minoxidil 5% asap. Also it may be worth using nizoral shampoo. All nourkin is is an expensive dietary supplement - see my posts on diet / food intolerances which may help too.

Good luck

Just come across your message about Nourkin.  I'm thinking about starting on Nourkin myself - is it working for you, would you reccommend it?

Hi joy, just bought my second pack of nourkin tabs, so far nothing but will try anything and its early days, will let you know.  I have also been prescribed 'Proscar' and am taking two together, so will probably not know which one is working (please god) anyway, but hey its only money.  Good Luck. keep in touch.  By the way if you decide to buy nourkin thru holland and barrett if you smile sweetly they will knock of 10%

If you get any result it will be down to the proscar. All Nourkin is is an expensive supplement. For about £5 you could buy multivits & minerals - spend a £7 a month on nizoral and keep £38 in your pocket

hi i also have depleting hair line which i ought to address sooner rather than later.

is nourkin really just a vitamin supplement?

how long did it take people to experience the results from using propecia - also spritey did you get proscar over propecia b/c of price difference?

Yes it is just a supplement, theres more chance of me being the next PM than Nourkin stopping MPB in its tracks

The sooner you start the more chance of a good result. If I was you I would get straight down to the chemists - 5% regaine and 2% nizoral. Make an appointment to see the Dr and get a private perscription for proscar (take quarter of a pill aday) cos propecia is a complete rip off - if your Dr isn't sure tell him you are depressed and will just get some generic stuff off the internet!

And i thought i was the only looney up late at night worried about my hair-loss.  Dobbo please dont be so positive that you are right about nourkin, let me stay on cloud cuckoo-land about the £100 that i have shelled out so far.  Now dont know whether to continue or not, have found web-site that are doing buy 2 get 3rd free.  Even Argos sell nourkin, can it really be useless????????????????????

Fine - you guys spend your money on expensive dietry supplements that have no back up of double blind field trials. I will stick primarily with the treatments that are SCIENTIFICALLY proven, and approved by federal agencies to work for the majority of MPB suffers.

Other 'fools gold' include procerin, laser combs, abstenence, getting a cow to lick your head, wing of bat, eye of newt, natterjack toad.......

To continue on this theme - MPB is not caused by nutitional deficiencies - if it was all the chav kids in my town who get there sustinence from McDonalds / Iceland frozen & tinned range would all be bald. Good nutrition will help make what hair you do have healthy - but thats no good when all the hair on top has gone! You keep your hair with fin, min, and niz and make the best of it with good nutrition.
