Apparently it's very much to do with the shampoos and other hair products you use, particularly hair growth products. I'm taking propecia at the moment for my hair loss, and so I've been doing some research. I mentioned in another post, that we should be buying fully natural haircare products that use essential oils like Aloe Vera, Citrus Fruits, Jojoba, Rosemary, and Sage that promote healthy hair growth. Most products use toxins and chemicals that are found in Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Phosphates, and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. So we should be reading labels. I think this will help with your thin hair problem, Cheers, P

thanks Pod! That's really interesting - I'll go and see what i can find. I always just use the big brands like Pantene, but they've got all that junk in them, which probably hasnt been doing me any good!

hello Ive not checked in here for a while, Ive bought this Kerastese shampoo and conditioner and whilst it make my hair feel lovely, Im not convinced its stopping the thinning hair at all. I will check to see if it has all these chemicals in though. I heard that Pantene coats the hair in silicone? I coudl be wrong, but Im sure I read it in a hair magazine once. DP

hello well ive checked the ingrediants on the kerastase shampoo and conditioner, and neither seem to have any of the nasty chemicals mentioned. So im going to finish using these bottles up and see what happens. What others can anybody recommend? DP

I just bought a shampoo in the natural food shop - its called Australian. I used it this morning and it smelled good, and felt good shampooing. IT's got loads of the essential oils in it, but none of the bad stuff. It's a bit more expensive than normal shampoos, but I think it's got to be worth it! I asked the woman at the counter what else I could do, and she recommended that I take Silica tablets too, once a day. so I bought some of them as well. I hope it helps!

No it's not for thinning hair specifically - but it has plant proteins and organic plant extracts in it to promote hair regrowth. It strengthens cells and promotes cell regeneration. And it doesn't have any harmful chemicals like Sodium Lauryl Sulphates. I like it - and its not much more than normal shampoo, in price.

I have been pleased with the results although I haven't noticed much more regrowth recently. I had a spurt for a while, but at least it's not receeding more. I'm continuing to use the Australian organic shampoos which I agree are really good. It's just good to know that I'm not taking the meds, and then adding to the problems with harmful shampoos. I got onto the silica that ocanada mentioned too. It's just a supplement so it's ok to take it with the propecia.
