Hi Amy,sorry for not replying earlier I have been away for a few days.I am glad to hear some positive feedback cos I had thought of coming off them, but now I know you are finding them okay I will carry on.I am wondering if I have lost or put on this week cos I have eaten more than normal even though I felt stuffed and should have left food on my plate. However I couldnt offend my german host who will not let you leave her table without emptying your plate. She scoffs at diets being an 18 stone lady whos soul purpose on this earth is to feed people up,so I may have to start again once I get weighed in the morning good louck anyway and keep in touch, bye, jammydodger

Sorry about the nickname, but a man with my BMI is allowed a laugh (I think)! Anyway, I just ordered my Acomplia, so cannot say much yet. However, I was taking generic Rimonabant for some 2 months last summer, and had absolutely no effects - side ones or weight loss ones. OK, maybe a bit of a feeling a little funny in the stomach for a week or so, but not too bad. So, we shall see if Acomplia can do anything for me - I ordered 3 months supply to start with. Reading through your posts here, it appears to me that quite a few people - mostly ladies - had nasty experiences with it. I shall be keeping an eye on all the things mentioned and let you know how it works for me.

As my reply to you this morning has disappeared, I'll try again, without web addresses I mentioned in my deleted post: Unfortunately, I did not take part in any study - I simply got generic Rimonabant of the internet, as the price was very reasonable. Bought two months' worth - nothing happened, did not order any more. Hope this reply is satisfactory to our Big Brother/Big Sister ...

It was sort of standard "pill-like" shape - round with the middle bit "fatter" than the edges. Sold (and still is) in boxes of 30. They are also selling the 40 mg version. They never claimed that it was "Acomplia" - just generic Rimonabant. As I said, did nothing for me at all - it might have been generic baking powder for all I know.

Hi everyone Just found this today and thought I'd add my own experiences with Acomplia. My doctor prescribed it and I started taking it on 1 Nov. In the first three weeks, I was fine and lost 10 pounds with no problems . I then went on holiday for 6 days and added 3 pounds on . I was then ill for five days with a really bad sickness bug and lost 9.5 pounds . The week after, I put 4 pounds back on, which was mid December. Since then, the sickness seems to have stayed with me as a nauseous feeling, often there all day. Worst of all, I have lost no more weight. I went back to the doctor and once I told him the details, he said they are too expensive to not be working and has now put me on Reductil. Skinny, I had a similar discussion on another forum with regard to 'generic Rimonobat' - there is no such thing as the licence is still held by Sanofi and no-one will be allowed to make generic until the initial license expires. Sorry but you must have been duped. There are also no other sizes of tablets, I got mine via prescription (for the normal prescription charge in the UK) from my doctor and collected them from Boots on the High Street so I know they are genuine. On my leaflet, there was no mention of other sizes, they are only available in 20mg size. I hope this clears a few bits a pieces up. H (Hi YC)

Welcome You've still had a pretty good loss going by what Sanofi state - 10% body weight in 1 year (2 years? - I can never remember). Weird about the stomach bug - there is a lady on another forum I go on who had that bad bug before Christmas and that left her with nausea afterwards when using Acomplia. Really strange. Reductil is good - I can't take it because it gives me severe headaches - but when I was on it for 10 days, I was forcing myself to eat. Caroline
