I've been taking accomplia for 2 months now (lost appox. 8 lbs), but I have some strange things happening and want to know if I'm alone.  When I try to go to sleep I get a strange ,dizzy feeling along with what I feel is a little bit of panic for no reason.  I also feel paranoid that I'm having a heart attack or something even though I'm in good health.  Is this all the anxiety everyone is talking about.  I'm going to finish one more month and see what happens.  Also, if I drink a little too much wine I wind up throwing up the next day for a few hours, anyone else have that happen?  Thank you for all your help.

Hi Mandy,

Oh, I get the pins and needles thing too sometimes. Yesterday was a good day, no real anxiety and two people told me I looked thinner, but I'm waiting to see how it goes.  I'm in the US and have to order by mail, hope customs doesn't get them and pay top dollar, so I wonder if I don't order next month what will happen.

Yep, I got the same and still occasionally get it.  I just ignore it to be honest as it does seem harmless, although disturbing.  Funny how it is not on the side effects list - although I suppose it is hard to define it really because the feeling is weird.

I believe from what people have said that drinking a bit too much alcohol can make people feel a bit ill on Acomplia.  Perhaps it enhances the effects and hence the side effects.

Mandy - I've not been doing well.  I lost a stone in my first month and then it went pear shaped due to Christmas followed by a very stressful time when comfort eating became my prozac.  One thing I have learnt about Acomplia is that it is easy to ignore the drug, and sometimes it just doesn't seem to be working.  I'm back on track now - got a loss of 8lbs in about 3 months which is not great, but it would have been around 2 stone if I'd not left the path

Caroline

Mandy - you do have to "diet" with this drug.  I'm finding the only thing it helps with is cravings.  I still get hungry, although perhaps not as persistent feeling.  I count calories.  There are a lot of free websites out there and I so wish I could put a link up.

I'll give you one thing to go search for - Sparkpeople    It's an all out life changing site and it is completely free.  It is the best thing to come my way.

Sorry Mary - taken over your thread here hehe.  Let us know how you get on with the sleep thing.  I had an attack of it last night - jerked fully awake thinking I was having a heart attack.  What's weird is that my heart wasn't beating hard or anything.  Most odd, huh!

That's Ok about the thread.  I'm just glad it's not only me.  I keep plugging along, not sure what I'll do next month.  It does seem this month the real serious strangeness is less??
