Hi! Because I read so many negative reports here I just wanted to let you guys know that for some people it does work just fine, like me. I've been taking acomplia for about 3 months now and have felt no side effects. I don't know how much I have lost in total, but I know that it is a good 4-5cm on my belt (I was about 120kg in the beginning). Now, I have to add that I also changed my diet to lots of fruit, almost no meat, low fat etc., no sweets in the evening, no crisps. Also, I started going swimming again.
Here is one problem I see with many of the comments I read: people have wrong expectations because they don't know what acomplia actually does. It does not reduce weight. It does not reduce hunger as such either. What it does is it blocks the receptors that give you the warm and fuzzy feeling you get from eating, especially from eating treats. You do not get the feeling that you have to eat a whole bag of crisps here and now. That's the idea. It will however only work together with a decent diet. It will have NO effect whatsoever if one takes the pill but keeps up all the bad habits. It's no wonderdrug, whatever people say.
Glad to hear that it is working for you, I am going to restart tommorow now the diarrhoea has settled and see what happens this time. I only got to day 2 before I had the problems and due to cardiac meds and Thyroxine I can't afford to not absorb these meds.
hi belynda, yup give it another try. I'm taking Thyroxine as well, have noticed no side effects at all from that (because as far as I know it just adds to your body's own level). This is what I do in addition to Acomplia: - (since late) go swimming ca 2x a week for at least half an hour net swim time - eat lots of grapefruit - as a snack i eat almonds, healthy fat (but high in calories. it's just that i really like them - in general little fat, almost no meat, be done with diner by 7 or 8 tops, no food after except fruit or a carrot etc.
I had to cut back on a lot of stuff i normally like to snack on, but (i guess it is thanks to acomplia) i really do not miss these snacks at all. They usually gave me a sort of "high", but since acomplia they don't any more. Which is exactly the idea.
Thanks for the tips, they are really welcome. I sort of wondered if the gastro probs were caused by too much fat but I don't think Acomplia works that way.
