Hi everyone!  I have just ordered acomplia for the first time and its my first time on uk medix 2. Am hoping that as well as helping me to lose weight(fingers crossed!) it may also help me to stop smoking, has anyone found this to be the case for them?
Also I have just been reading some other ppls experiences of acomplia and am now a bit concerned bout the side effects ppl are having, it's not all bad, is it???!!!  Hope I haven't just wasted £199 that I couldn't really afford!!!

I think Accomplia is different for every person - yes the side effects warned about can be horrendous, but it's probably only a small minority that will be affected by them. Personally I'm on my 4 month's supply and have lost 12 ilbs so far. The doctor and I are both happy with the loss - slow but sure. Going to the gym helps too cos it speeds up the metabolism. The only real side effects I have is the diaorrhea. 3 lost in the moring before I leave for work!!! But hey its one way to lose weight - LOL
Does change the way you look at food too. Your tastes change.
Good luck to everyone starting out on them.

Hello All, I have been on acomplia for 5 days and want to share with you what is happening with me.
It has been prescribed by my doctor and because I am type 2 diabetic on medication, it is totally free for me. I have 8 stones to lose. (seems like a mountain but I am taking it all in small steps)
On first day, after only 2 hours I had a very hot flush. Just the one. I couldnt believe that this tablet could effect me so quickly.
Since then I have a couple of hot flushes each day - they are over within minutes and nothing for me to worry about.
On third day I noticed I was itching a bit, but not so much as to upset me. This itching has continued. It hasnt got any worse.
I have had 2 bouts of diarrhea, which were honestly not too bad.
I have noticed that my craving for junk has gone.  I still get hungry but I am trying to eat sensibly and I am satisfied with less food. I am also feeling, what I can only describe as 'mellow'. In my job that isnt a bad thing. (stressfull callcentre work)
I am walking for 20mins every day on an uphill treadmill.
Most importanly I have lost weight. I had a binge the day before I started on my tablet, but I have lost 3 lbs from my pre binge weight. 6 lbs in all. I know this is early days, but I feel very positive about this course of treatment.
I have read lots of scary stories on this site, most of them are a couple of years old, and I am hopeing that all the concerns have been ironed out.
I intend to stay positive and let this little pill do its work.
I am due to be officially weighed on 21st July at the doctors. I will keep you posted, hopefully with good news.

hi ya, good to know it is working for you.  i started on saturday that is 3 pills ago haha.  Besides a very slightly lose toilet (once) i have had  no side affects at all, in fact i might as well not be taking them as i have felt nothing at all.. i eat very healthily and do not pick but still can not lose weight i am hoping this pill alters the way my body thinks, if that makes sense.
How long did it take before you noticed it was working and started weight loss.. is it you went from eating loads to nothing hence weight loss or were you like me.  I am just worried sick they wont work for me. i read about everyone elses weight loss and wish it was me. look forward to your reply x

Hi all, I'm now into my second month of using Acomplia. Hate to say it but the weight isn't coming off.  If I hadn't read the message from yc saying that it took several months for it to 'work' I'd have given up.They talk about depression as being a possible side-effect; the only depression I've got is due to the lack of weight-loss (and money which I can't afford) and the disappointment.  Why isn't it working?  I have been careful about what I eat but now I'm losing that motivation.  I'd be interested other's experiences.

Hi Lyn,

I am on Reductil 10mg and i find that this is suppressing my appetite and therefore I’m losing weight. Why not give it a try as acomplia has a lot of side effects and takes along time to see results.

well done for losing what you have! I found Reductil was the only drug that worked for me.Unfortunately I had to stop taking it because it's contra indicated in patients with heart disease (I have Angina)
The good news is that I have lost 20 pounds over the last six months,on NO medication at all
It's just down to diet and exercise.I know this sounds simple, but it isn't.You need incredible will power to persevere.I MAKE myself go for 2 walks a day (about 2-3 miles each) not power walks, but enough to "feel it" also three days a week I go swimming for 45 mins.I feel SO much better a)after the exercise and b) for the weight loss. This in turn helps to control your food intake. An unhappy person eats more.Whose more unhappy than a fat person? We all smile and laugh and like to be the "life and soul of the party" but we know it's all an act, don't we? Low self esteem and obesity go together, they "feed" off each other.

Sorry to hear that you had to stop taking reductil, but good on you for doing it with willpower alone. 20lbs is amazing,I myself have had a few chest pains since taking reductil so i might start to go it alone aswell. Other then that reductil really works.
