I consider my sexual life pretty good but I'm a little curios about this medication” intrinsa”. How do I know if I need it? or can I use it even if I dont need it?

Well if you have a good sex life it can only make you more randy surely. Though, intrinsa, if i remember correctly releases testosterone so if you don;t need it, why would you wnat more testosterone? You showing off a bit that you have such a good sex life?

Hi everyone, I am a new member to the forum. Have been on Intrinsa patches for about 18 months. My testosterone levels were extremely low as shown by blood tests done at the hospital, If your love life is fine don't take extra testosterone via Intrinsa. High testosterone levels in women will cause deepening of the voice which can't be reversed. Also facial hair, weight gain and acne which will improve when testo levels drop. Possibly other problems. Hope this explains.

Hi Canada, no what I am trying to say (sorry if I confused) is that if a woman already has enough testosterone in her body and puts extra into it via Intrinsa she will get those reactions as described. I have had some hairs on my neck but it wouldn't stop me using Intrinsa which has been marvelous. But remember, I am 57 and post menopausal and have blood tests that prove I had hardly any tesosterone in my body before using Intrinsa. I also use estrogen patches to boost flagging levels. You're not supposed to use HRT tablets made from equine product. Take care.

Hi Judith and everyone. If you have low testosterone to start with and supplement it with Intrinsa you shouldn't get side effects as described. If you don't get a blood test to see what your testosteronbe is, you have to buy it and 'suck it and see' Excuse the pun! I am not a doctor. All I would summise is that if you do get side effects as described, stop using Intrinsa and everything should go back to what it was.

Thankyou Oli for the information, I will try and get a blood test booked in. What will that show? As I wont have any levels of hormones as Ive gone through menopause and had a hysterectomy. Judith
