Hi Judith, there is no problem taking Intrinsa with cold remedies, antibiotics and the like.  If you think of how your testosterone levels were when you were a young woman (a lot higher than after menopause) well you wouldn't even think about it.  The leaflet in your Intrinsa box will tell you if there are any contra-indications.  Cheers

hello
Oli - thankyou again for your advice! I read the leaflet from my box, and yes you were right cold rememdies etc can be taken with no apparent side effects.
However, Ive noticed my tummy is really sore and itchy from where the patch has been. I keep moving it to different areas on my tummy but it still keeps coming up itchy and sore. Not sure if this is normal or perhaps a little reaction to the glue on the patch.

It could be the glue Judith but I think, myself, it will improve if you do what I've suggested, and which was suggsted to me, as I've written prior.  Have another read of your instruction to see if there's anything you've missed.  Take care.

Hi Oli!

I have been reading all your information here and I have to thank you as you really know your stuff. I think a lot of women on here, like me are newcomers to intrinsa so it has only been a few months.

I am pleased that my sex drive has increased.  Would you mind me asking about yours?

Issy x

hello
Im with you on that one Isabella, Oli is brilliant! If it wasnt for her, I dont think I would have tried the patch and still been suffering a loss of sex drive. Mine hasnt quite kicked in yet though! Im waiting for the 3 month mark!! How long have you been taking it now?
My problem is just the itchyness and soreness which I hope after trying the hairdryer trick will help!
Thank you again Ladies.

Thank you Issy and Judith.  My sex drive returned on testosterone.  I was on implants through the hospital at first.  This was a minor surgical procedure of a testosterone pellet inside the skin of my stomach, every 6 months.  Intrinsa came out and I have been on that for over a year instead.  Intrinsa took 3 months to work.  My drive is nearly as good as prior the menopause.  You have to take into account that estrogen etc also has an impact on sex drive combined with testostrone.  My sex drive was almost nil prior to testosterone supplementation.  I am what is known as having hypo sexual disorder.  Don't forget though ladies that some part of the drive is what our feelings are about our partners or even sex in general.  Depression reduces your sex drive.  Great news Issy that you've re-found your drives again.  Testosterone also makes us feel in a good mood.  I feel more balanced out on it.  I am also on Evorel estrodiol patches (the female hormones).  I am 57.  Hope this helps.  Take care

hello
I only just read this now before Id replied in the other rooms! Sounds like you have had a long while trying to sort this out Oli. Im a year older than you and have not really had much interest in sex even when my husband was alive. So I think you are right with regards to depression and our own feelings about our partner and sex itself.
I know for myself now how differnt I feel with my new partner and its very different. I have a want and need, plus a desire to be intimate whereas before, I dont thnk I was really bothered.
Hopefully the patch will work wonders in a couple more months and that be that!

Hi Judith, it's heart warming to hear of how you've met someone and what your feelings are about him.  I am really routing for you and your partner.  Please keep persevering with the Intrinsa.  The itching can be controlled honest.  We all have harmless bacteria on our skin.  All of us.  The Intrinsa patch is quite large and your skin can't breath underneath the patch, gets warm and moist underneath it thus causing increase of bacteria and itching.  This is what I think the problem is.  I may be wrong as some of our ladies think it's a glue problem - which it may be.  I just think, for myself, it's the skin not breathing thing as I have an estrogen patch which is smaller and there's no problem.  Don't forget the power of the mind with sex drive.  You are mentally ready so I wouldn't be surprised if the Intrinsa works way before the three months.  Let us inow how you get on but don't get barred from the site for being too blue Judith!!  LOL
