When i was reading about Viagra, it says that you shouldn't drink alcohol or eat fatty foods otehr wise the viagra won't work. Is it the same for Intrinsa. Should we stay away from these things if we are looking to have a 'passionate' night? Just wondering as I am going to start using intrinsa. Thanks for your input!! xx

After I read your post I couldn't find anything liked with food and the patch. So as it is not readily available information maybe it isn't an issue?? Disco x x

Gabriella hi. Intrinsa (testosterone supplement for women) is nothing like Viagra. Viagra is for men and works in a physical way on their john thomas's as we know. You don't need to stop alcohol or fatty food with Intrinsa though it's always good to eat healthy and follow the drink limitations if you can. You can, with some people (not all), put on a bit of weight with Intrinsa so healthy life style would be a good thing. All the best

Oli, you are a fountain of knowledge on Intrinsa. I am still new to it and all the information you have provided has been so helpful. Thanks

Hi Saffy, many thanks for your kind words. I have done a lot of research into testosterne and women and low sex drive. All via the internet and, as mentioned, I am no doctor. I suffered low sex drive problem for years but was very fortunate that the hospital sorted me out. Before I went on to Intrinsa I had testosterone implants which were done via a surgical cut into the skin of my stomach!! That was every six months. Not for the faint hearted. Then Intrinsa was brought out so no more minor surgery for me. I have blood tests done once or twice a year to check hormone levels with the patches, also liver and kidney function tests. All the best.

hello I have just got Intrinsa but not started taking it yet, I am still rather worried about the side effects that go with; such as the deepening voice, the facial hair and now having just read this post, the weight gain! I probably like many other older ladies have put on a few extra pounds here and there over the years, struggled to loose them but finally got down to a weight I am happy with only to find I now have other female problems. Has anybody else taken Instrinsa and put on weight? If so, has it been alot or just a couple of pounds? judith
