Hello I am asking whether anybody else is experiencing itchy, sore skin from where ever they place the Intrinsa patch? Ive been told to put it on my tummy which I have been doing now for about a week. However, after about an hour of putting on the new patch, I get awful itchy skin and it becomes really sore around that area. Ive had to keep moving the patch around different parts of my tummy but the same thing happens. Anybody else getting this too? judith

Hi Judith, I get the same problem. They told me to put the patch on after a bath. Make sure your skin is as dry as possible. Then use your hairdryer on the patch once it's on the skin on your tummy. Just waft the dryer some inches away fromn the stuck patch so as not to burn yourself. The idea being to make the skin as germ-free as possible before the patch goes on, then to make sure it's anchored in place using some mild heat from the dryer. I wouldn't keep moving the patch about once on if you can help it. Hope this helps.

hello Thank you so much Oli, I actually went to see the nurse as it was really sore. She has told me to stop using the patch for a few days and restart once the soreness on my skin has gone. I dont really want to do this, and she wasnt really very helpful either - kind of felt like she was rushing me through to see the next person in line. Do you know if Intrinsa is available in any other form? Thank you for your kind help too, I would be lost otherwise! judith

Hi Judith. My opinion is not to come off the patches or you will have to start all over again. Intrinsa takes time to work in your body. If you come off it, you will lose what testosterone build up has started. Me and another lady have said the same thing about getting your skin as germ free as you can. I get soreness but am managing it by doing what I have mentioned earlier. Intrinsa is very new off licence so may be the nurse you saw is not familiar with it. Keep using two patches a week continuously without a break. Are you doing this Judith? It's three days on one patch, disguard, then four days with a fresh patch - days are dependent on the guidance in your notes. Kind regards.

hello Thank you so much for this Oli. I went back to the doctors today and saw a different nurse. I had been using the patches completely wrong, I was putting a new patch each day - which I wasnt meant to do! So no wonder my skin was sore and itchy. Ive tried the hairdryer trick today and 'touch wood' all has been alot better. Im not coming off the patches at all, but now Ive been advised properly in how to use them and will persevere. Thank you again for your help, I really do appreciate this room. How long have you been using Intrinsa now? judith

Hi J, you using a new patch every day wont have caused the itching, it would have lessened it but I'm sorry that it will have cost you money-wise as you'll have to buy more. I had a feeling that you needed to read your instructions. I am quite intuitive. I must admit the instructions can be confusing, I had to re-read as well. We all do it. Never mind. Just relax. Stick the patches on and then forget about 'em. Have some lovely romantic times, you lucky girl. Take care. PS no I am not a doctor, as mentiioned, just like to read up on things. I have replied to you on other sections.

hello Oli I have been doing the hairdryer thing for the last few days now, and 'touch wood'. it seems to be working better. I still have some itchyness and slight soreness but its not half as bad as it was. And yes Ive already had to buy some more patches , just waiting for them to be delivered! Roll on the next two months where I am looking forward to feeling different. Hope your having a wonderful weekend despite the awful weahter! judith

Excellent news Judith that the soreness is getting better. I know how you feel, I get soreness as well but it's usually on day 3 or 4 of the patch. If the patch comes off before its time, you cam just re-stick it as the testosterone is still on the adhesive. If a patch starts making me feel sore and then comes off, I just re-cleanse the skin and dry it completely then put the patch back on with the hairdryer wafting back and forth over it. Good word "wafting" - think I'll use it again! Good luck.

hello Thanks again Oli, I am checking here everyday to see if there is a reply or some new ideas from you that I can put into practise! Ive just replied to a post in the other room about evorel...did you get that at the same time as Intrinsa? and is it also a patch too? I am starting to feel a little different but not sure if its down to the patch or the fact we have some sunshine today! judith

Hi J, just replied to your other post re Evorel. I had HRT tablets for menopausal probs - hot flushes, low mood etc. Then went to docs/hospital re hyposexual problems (no sex drive). They did the implants, so was taking HRT tablets and had testo implants. Then intrinsa came out so I went on that and the Evorel patches - reason as said in other post. I have no news whatsoever re anything else that can be used to increase sex drive successfully. Let me know if you hear of anything.
