hello I have a quick question, Ive been using my Intrinsa patch now for a time and I have also recently started taking chromium - however, since taking the chromium, ive had a couple of dizzy spells. Not felt faint, just a little dizzy. Not sure if it is the chromium or whether Im having a side effect of Intrinsa? Chromium is an essential mineral that the body doesnt produce - so its not a medication as such. Any one have any ideas? judith

hello Just popping an update on here, as nobody has replied. Im still feeling a little off colour this week and not sure what to put it down to. As said in my previous post, Im taking chromium (200mcg a day) and have been feeling odd almost every day since starting taking it, now I dont know if that means its taking effect or whether its conflicting with my intrinsa patches? Anyone? judith

Hi Judith, I don't think it would be your intrinsa patches as you have been on them longer than the chromium and would have had them before the chromium if that were reason. One thing I would say though is do you know what else is in the chromium tablet. There are many different brands and sometimes it is what makes up the tablets that don't agree with your body. for example, I was taking a simple vitb12 from holland and barrett and i was suddenly feeling a bit queasy and went to see a kinesiologist, they test you for intollerances and vit and mineral defficiencies etc. anyway she found theb12 was bad for me as it had yeast in it and I am intollerant to yeast. So maybe have a look at what the tablet is made up of. Try and go for the superior brands such as Bioforce, Higher nature etc, they will be made of the best sources and organic etc. Hope this helps, Issy xx

hello Thank you Issy, I have bought a good brand that is organic and it contains; 200mg chromium polynicotinate gtf, stearic acid - of vegetable origin, magnesium stearate alos of vegetable origin, maltodextrin, cellulose and silica. I actually dont know what it was that was making me dizzy, my blood pressure was fine and it seemed to go away. I think it may have been tiredness as i had done alot of things that week, and not really had much rest or eaten as well as i normally do. Thank you though for your message, I will keep an eye if it happens again. So when you saw the kinesiologist, what else do they do? sounds intersting. judith

Hey Judith, glad it passed and hope it doesn't come back, I get dizzy when I am super dehydrated and is amazing what a difference it will be when I drink 2 points of water after each other, like a new person. Anyway, a kinesiologist tests you for food intolerances, they bring the essence into your enerygy field and they can tell by a simple muscle twitch that you cannot feel if the food is good for you etc. They can also test for hormone imbalances. In my case, as I was diagnosed with Crohns recently she can tell what my body is deficcient of and what I do not need to take etc. so am on a great regime of supplements that make my gut stronger and haven't had any crohn's related issues apart from bloating in a long time. Hope this helps Issy x

Thats very interesting, because I would always assume that a vitamin is good for you no matter what. I never considered that different brands put different things in it - I would have thought anything from holland and barratt would work for me. But as you've pointed out, we should look more closely at the ingredients. I think some health food shops do those tests for you. Ive been meaning to try it for more general food intolerances, just to see if I can optimise my health. Was there anything else you shouldnt eat other than yeast Isabella? That must cut out a lot of foods from your diet doesnt it? Glad to hear you're feeling better Judith!

hey therladies, some brands that i would recommend as I know the source of the product is the best is Higher Nature, Vogel, and BioCare. I drink aloe vera, take vitD, bio acidophilus, glutamine, permatrol,b complex, multi vit complex and flaxseed oil supplements for keeping my stomach strong and my immune system strong. i avoid, wheat and yeast, dairy, red meat only rarely and keep sugar down to a minimum, the sugar can help negative organisms in my tummy to mess me around. In reality, there are amazing alternatives. An alternative to wheat is oats, rye, rice (tice flour is fab) corn. barely, buckwheat, quinoa, millet, spelt, i could go on. I make tonnes of cakes with brown rice flour instead of white flour and i use veg like zucchini and carrots in my muffins, sugar is a minimum but so yummy and helpful to my stomach issues. Being tested had stopped me getting ridiculously bloated stomachs, toilet problems etc, so my quality of life is way better! Hope this helps, Issy xx

That sounds incredibly impressive Isabella, I thought I had demanding food requirements! But it seems that it is just a life choice for you now and that you are very comfortable with it. I've never tried aloe vera or flaxseed oil etc in my life. Do you get ill very rarely, with such a strong immune system?

Thing is Whittle, is that my immune system is not strong, i am on an immune supressant by the docs for my crohns, so all the stuff i take for my immune system kinda balances me out. if i get ill, it takes FOREVER to pass so i gotta be careful. I try not to think about it, i say i am strong and believing it is half the battle. Aloe vera is great for helping to get your stomach alkaline and i take 1 table spoon of flaxseed oil (organic) in the morning, helps with regularity and general inside out stuff, the combo of both really helps to make my skin light and smooth if you see what i mean. It's a pain of a regime but compared to my stomach aches i used to get i am in a much better place... Issy x
