I just heard about Intrinsa this week, and I'm a little concerned of the effects of prolonged use of testosterone for women. What do you all think about it? look forward to hearing anyone's thoughts.

If it makes you women want more sex, there should be no worry about side effects if you ask me.

such an educated response... the side effects with a woman getting too much testosterone is hair growth in places they usually do not get it eg the face , arms etc... so if you end up getting a little hairy and your voice gets a little lower maybe you won't feel so sexually excited.... that is what my concern is... if you aren't telling me anything helpful then don't bother please.

Hi Bianca, I have done a lot of reading into Intrinsa as thinking about taking it myself. There is a chance of increased hair growth on your face but I think that this is very rare. Also they say that there is a chance of your voice becoming deeper but again, this is very rare too! Have a look on the ukmedix website for more info as there is lots of good stuff on there. To tell you the truth I am worried about the possibility of weight gain as I have been struggling with my weight for years now! Do you know any more info about this?

Hi ladies, I understand your concern here, I actually tried intrinsa for the first time over the weekend and it was excellent. With regards to the side effect, I trawled the web to find someone who has suffered from side effects and I couldnt find any. I just read about how it 'could' happen. So for now I feel pretty comfortable using it. Anyway if i start getting hair on my face, there is always laser treatment! xx Fa

I have now used intrinsa and thought it was great. Hormones were a little all over the place at first but then my body got used to it and it worked wonders... Didnt (or havent) have any side effects at all. Maybe the side effects come if you wear the patch ALL the time or forget to take it off?!?! Anyway, just wanted to let you know that all was OK with me!

Hi, I have been doing lots of research on intrinsa and the side effects and one that affected me was to do with the actual patch. I got a slight rash/ redness where I had applied the patch. It was nothing serious at all and had disappeared by the next morning. The other, more noticable side effects are an increase in facial hair growth and acne which thankfully I have never had. Just thought I would share my experiences and findings! Thanks.

All good on the side effects by the way - I havent suffered from any of the apparent official 'Intrinsa side effects' but its just like miss-uk says, its the actual effect of applying the patch - I feel it gets a bit warm at first but that might be subconscious and it definitely doesnt make any difference or last very long. All worth it I would say!
