Hi all, I am currently totally miserable and have finally had enough of being overweight. I have back problems not caused by my weight but severly aggrevated by it. I have actually gained this weight over 6 years due to damaging my back and giving up lots of outdoor hobbies as the pain was too much - this combined with my comfort snacking and contented life has ballooned me too nearly 19 stone. You are the first people I have ever told my weight too and my confession of being so unhappy. I have always tried to pretend I am happy with who I am and come accross as confident and loud by inside I have so many issues and the weight is the first one I am ready to tackle. The problem is, I very rarely go to the doctors as I'm so embarassed about being so fat and the thought of them mentioning it scares me! So I have no history of complaining about or even mentioning my weight although to take a glance at me you can clearly see my problem! I have made an appointment but don't know how to approach the issue with a dr I have never even met before. I have been eating healthily for 2 weeks now and definately feel better in myself already and have just plucked up the courage to speak to all of you and the dr about things and I have spent the last 2 weeks researching help with weight loss and really want to try Reductil but how do I ask for it and will the dr prescribe it for me? I am sorry this is such a long post but I finally feel able to let off some steam in the hope you may help me? Ps - I think this site is great and have read many, many of your posts which have inspired me to change my life x With many thanks x

Hi there, Just wanted to say that i like you had enough of being overweight, and like you was scared of going to the doctor incase they wouldn't help me. But i went to the doctor and explained to her my concerns, she asked what my diet was like and to my amazement, she prescribed reductil to me. This was just over a week ago and already i have lost 4lb!!! I can already notice the changes it has made to my relationship with food, I know i still have a long way to go and have lessons to learn about my issues with food, but at last feel that i can do this. All i can say to you is that if you need help then the doctor is there to help you. Good luck x

I realised I had posted this in the wrong place so have copied it into the Reductil area and will update my progress there following the Dr appointment. Well done to you, you must be feeling amazing! I can't wait for it to be me! Thanks again x it means alot x

i TOO WAS SAME AS YOU CHERRYPOP, but saw my nurse about something else 3 weeks ago. Mentioned about my weight and she got doc to prescribe redutil, 3 weeks later, lost 7lbs in 1st 2weeks and totally see food differently. Now snack on fruit rather than toast, crisps and crappy food!!!! Don't drink nearly half as much alcohol......best thing to do is be truthfull with your doc/nurse. Hope you get it )
