I also posted this elsewhere thought this would be more appropriate..

A friend of mine recently acquired testicular cancer. Because it was identified early he has had literally a 100% recovery rate. I dont know how mnay people know this but this cancer is the most common cancer for men between the ages of 18 to about 35+. Thereafter Prostate Cancer begins to take over. The Outstanding News is that Testicular Cancer is one of the easiest cancers to cure from ALL CANCERS.

Anyhows, i thought id share a few tips i learnt about self checking for testicular cancer:

After a hot shower the testis become more relaxed, (thats the sack that contains all the bits and bobs) and this is the right time to perform the self check.

OK...Cancer of the testicle feels like a hard lump that is part of the testicle, if you feel something hard on the testicle, contact a urologist immediately or at least your GP.

The epididymis runs behind the testicle in most cases and it is normal to feel this structure, this is kind of spongey. The first few times you perform the self examination, it may be confusing. However, with time, you shjould become more comfortable with the examination and will be able to tell if there are changes occurring in the testicle.

Once a month, you ought to repeat the examination for both testicles. If you feel a lump, if the testicle is changing in size or if something appears present that doesn't belong, contact your physician or a urologist.

Basically the earlier the detection the better...i.e. make it a habit forming ritual which joins your tooth brushing and flossing!!
