Has anyone on here had them? I read somewhere that if you get water retention easily then you might have them. if i sit down for two long i always get water retention in my legs and get fat looking ankels. and recently ive felt my womb aching a bit, but i always worry that thats coz of my laptop. I didnt want to call my doctor coz i had a smear recently and everything was fine, but i just wondered if anyones had cysts, and how they found out that they had them. do they show up on smear tests or not? thanks.

I think the water retention would be in the abdomen if you have ovarian cysts? Plenty of people live with them and they don't have to be removed. If they are life threatening I think there are normally some pretty awful symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea etc.

If you get a lot of pain out side of normal period pain, then you do really need to get it checked out. what you think could be harmless ovarian cysts, could be something like endometriosis. this is when cells from the lining of your womb start sticking to other parts, like your ovaries or bladder. Its really common - 1 in 7 women have it. It can make it difficult to get pregnant. These are the symptoms: Pain before and during periods Pain with intercourse General, chronic pelvic pain throughout the month Low back pain Heavy and/or irregular periods Painful bowel movements, especially during menstruation Painful urination during menstruation Fatigue Infertility Diarrhoea or constipation so check it out daisy! Dont mean to frighten you, though : )
