its a seriosu condition....go for a test which is pretty easy really..all you do is to have a sample taken from inside the genitals as fas as i am aware. i had a few of these tests recently and basically one of them was like that; which i think was for chlaymidia. YOu ought to go becaause it can cause infertility if left untreated. Like all conditions and diseaases the longer that it is left untreated the worse it will be. Get treated TODAY or latest TOMORROW. NHS have clinics you can go to - hit their site

I used a home test when I was unsure about whether I had it - i know it shouldnt but it still has such a stigma attached that i just couldnt bring myself to see a doctor. you can get home tests now just like pregnancy tests for about 15 quid so nobody need ever know! i got mine from snip - no links i didnt have it thankfully hope you dont either

I am female and the symptoms i experienced including pain when i peed, a little discharge from the vagina - that frieghtened me and i rushed to the doctor - took a bunch of anti-biotics and now am fine and dandy...get checked!

Men can get chlamydia known as "the clap" too. But sometimes there are no symptoms in a woman and if left untreated can lead to Pelvic Inflamatory Disease and infertility.

I'd like to know how you did the test, as it is normally done by a trained health professional, especially if it's a woman. I had one done, when I had my smear and even they had problems doing it! It can lay dormant for a few months

used to work in the gu med clinic where you can have the tests done. It is only a vaginal swab there. You can also have them done now by most practice nurses at your doctors which is just a vaginal swab. they have only recently started doing them in most clinics because it is the expense(as always). they used to refuse in the doctors and tell you to go to gu med clinic(or clap clinic as it used to be called) So yeh you can ask for a practice sister to do them. men can have no symtoms and that is why it goes undetected until a woman gets it and after a while not always straight away they will get symtoms of those like any infection. It is becoming available for men to be routinely tested at their gps but this is a very recent thind and only if money is available. this being cause there is a lot of stigma related to the gum clinics and some wont go. like said earlier like most std's left undetected it can make you infertile so everybody should have it done if can. Best time is to ask if you can have it done when you have a smear test. hope this helps x
