One page which has great info - covering masks, goggles, disposable clothing, hand cleansers, informative posters etc. Definitely worth a look for peace of mind. Some really informative stuff on here. If you go for a mask Id recommend you use either a FFP2 disposable (for low to high risk areas) or an FFP3 mask if you are in close contact with birds etc.

Bird Flu - Im so worried can anyone help? Westie can... Right. Birdflu, as opposed to bloke flu affects females. Typical symptoms include constant urge to shop, constant urge to change their mind, a desire to complain about trivial things, moan and acknolwedge that they are worse drivers than their male counterparts... Birdflu has been detected in Scotland. A lot of women were reportedly seen running around the place with permed hair and carrying bags of chips, wearing kappa tops and drinking vast amounts of irn bru, whilst also eating battered mars bars dipped in brine and lard...ok...obviously i am joking......in actual fact the Scottish Executive has extended surveillance zones in Scotland to include 170 properties with over 3 million birds, as well as free-range poultry. About 48 are free-range premises with 250,000 birds. An initial 1.8 mile (3km) protection zone was set up around Cellardyke on Wednesday, (thats where they found the ladyflu) surrounded by a six-mile (10km) surveillance zone so dont be tooo worried ok love. Westie, I have laughed at every post you have started. Advice page and Citizens Advice - pure genius. However, this is too much. I live not very far away from Fife and am really insulted by your comments about the woman. Joking or not - bad taste. An irate East coaster from Scotland.

you must admit it is A bit funny what Westie said, Don't jocks have sense of humours or something?? I agree with Kate why is every one suddenly panicking about this bird flu thing?? I wouldn't go buying all the tabs as they can't be the real thing, they haven't invented anything to protect people yet, It would have been on the news if they had!! So all you divs who have bought tabs have been taken for A ride!

The post was funny about the Scottish drinking Iron Brew but I do also agree with the last post in that there is no need it seems to completely freak-out with BirdFlu. There is still nothing to date and I figure that the longer the threat is out there the longer scientists and other such like-minded folk will develop potential vaccines and actual real vaccines.

it is amsuing that post about the Scots - take a joke!! I wouldnt be so complacent about birdflu. Epidemics/Pandemics like this (although hasnt happened yet) occur naturally every so often. The only proven medication/anti-viral medication out there that [ought!!] to comabt avian HN51 virus is Tamiflu, Relenza and there are another couple of which i forget their names.

vdixM I work for the N.H.S, and they are currently looking into pandemic situations and how the N.H.S would cope as a whole, should it happen again! They are predicting a pandemic for later on this year! How true it is, i dont know! But as ive said before, why worry about something that isnt happening yet! I will worry when its here! But until then, life goes on! Kate
