i also heard that relelza works in a similar manner to tamilflu > do you need a prescription for that as well? I heard that it works in a simialr fashion if the worst case scenario was to ever happen>

I am thinking about buying some anti virus. I wouldn't normaly but my wife is panicing and has also started to buy long life food. The main questions I have seen not answered is this. Which one should you get? Tamiflu, Amantadine( Symmetrel) or Relenza. It seems all of them are not proven. Also how many days worth should you buy? Each has its own guidelines so 5-7 days should do it. But if you start taking the drug when you get flu symptoms how do you know its the killer flu and not some other flu. Then you will need mopre for the next wave of the virus going around. If you want to protect yourself from getting it you could take 1 tablet per day for the amount of time it takes to die out, perhaps as long as 6-8 months? We are also concerned about what will happen when the mutated human strain of flu breaks. How long will I be able to work for to keep paying bills? How long will I have to stay off work? Will world wide panic hit and looting etc. So many opinions and questions that the government doesn't seem to be handling! If this comes we will have seen nothing like it since the world war 1 outbreak.

antonj - you are correct about the possibilty of birdflu being worse that world war one in terms of fatalities. Incidentally birdflu and the resulting pan/epidemic is a greater threat to mankind compared to terrorism for which we have paid an enourmous amout of money.... anyways dont get me started on the waste of money our governments are wasting on the war in iraq. you do need a prescription for tamiflu and relenza since they are controlled substances that need authorisation for dispensation from a qualified doctor or nurse. there is also another type of medication called peramivir which is by injection and will be available soon, (one to keep an eye on.)

Mrs T - how did you have the confidence to do this - I would like to do the same, however, this site has no UK address or contact numbers that I can find. In fact, not wanting to be sceptical, but even you, Mrs T could be just someone employed by ukmedix to send mail/replies to give others confidence to buy. Do you see what I mean? Please help, plus anyone else out there reading this who has info or knows this site is legitimate please help. - I'm happy to discuss direct via e-mail or even phone if you wnat me to provide contact details or provide yours. Just want to protect my family, like everyone else. Thanks again everyone Martin
