I have a medium sized business involved in import and export, we do considerable business in asia. Some of my guys regulalry travel to asia - i would liek to get them some anti-viral medication (just in case), which ought i get them - this relenza and/or tamiflu and which do people beleive to be the strongest and most effective. i spoke to my gp just now and he wasnt too sure owing to the fact that the most virulent form of the virus has still not reached mainland UK. Lets hope it doesnt, Paul Toga

They are both different Tamiflu is ingested whilst relenza is inhaled - my instict is that relenza will be delivered far quicker thatn tamilfu simply becuase of the process of administration

i read that relenza is more effective since tamiflu has been found to be immune in certain species of foul infected with bird flu. when would you take the medication anyway? I am considering buying some for my family, (maybe even a course or two of tamiflu) just to be on the safe side. Almost it feels that we are owed a large scale pandemic. Did you all know that in the Spanish Flu (1918)killed more than the First World War?

intresting read....with stocks of these two running a little low would we be able to use amantidine which is very similar i believe? There is a lot of press out there saying that one is better than the other, i was just curious about amantidine and if anyone heard anything negative about this anti-viral? thanks for all replies, Lister

tamiflu is more effective. I only say this because look at how much has been ordered by the US governemenr and literally every govenment in the world. These countries obviously ask their best doctors etc to consult them on such a decision and for so many to choose tamiflu indicates that this is the anti-viral of choice who has some reading this?
