About 6 weeks ago I went to a club. I received a lap dance and I also fondled the girl. Sorry to be graphic, but I need to explain so i can get some advice. I did not have intercourse with the girl. I did finger her vagina and suck on her nipples. I, of course, feel guilty, but after about 6 weeks, i had two glands swell up around the lower part of my left ear. Right before the glands swelled up I got a poison ivy looking rash on the right front top part of my head. I felt like I had a sore throat and a headache aswell. I went to the doctor. After her inquisition, I explained my recent events. She said I probably had herpes and presecribed an antibiotic and Valtrex. After a few days of the anitbiotic and valtrex, the glands are going down and the rash is dissappearing. The rash does itch/burn and that area of my head feels hot. Any thoughts on what is going on? I did not know you could get herpes on the top of your head. Thanks

herpes can come out as a rash in any part of your body, you probably want to make sure of that thou since i am not an expert on this subject. the only thing is that since by your description there was very little sexual contact i would be suprised if it were her that passed to you the virus. Herpes by the way is either defined as being HV1 or HV2. HV1 is the top half of the body and is consistent with cold sores whilst HV2 is the lower half of the body and is consistent with genital herpes. Both do not have a cure and are not at all life threatening; if you have the virus then no fear, so does the overwhelming majority of the popualtion....ever had chickenpots? Well thats the herpes family - if you have had chicken pots then that virus - like herpes - will stay in the body. Our immune system copes with the virus very well but it hides in the nervos system. Chicken pots - if it re-emerges, is then called shingles which is pretty painful but again, a very common ailment/condition. We are not talking HIV here - thats a differnt ball game. Have you been tested for herpes???
